So me and my family of Six applied for a B-2 tourist non-immigration visa and had the visas approved from the Toronto, CA consulate on Friday the 2nd of February. The following Monday all the visas were issued except mine. I was not given a 221g paper and bare in mind this was a whole family application under my father's name. I am only 16 years old and it doesn't make sense to me that my visa hasn't been approved even though it has been 3 weeks. I am afraid if the visa does not come by Wednesday of next week my family will have to go without me, this is truly causing distress and worry.

Has anyone had any similar experiences? When should I expect it to be issued? Any advice would be helpful as my family and I are really frustrated and have no idea what to do.

Thank you in advance!

Assuming you are not a Canadian citizen.. AP can take longer for males, esp if you have a background from certain countries for extra background checks. That part, you don't have any control over; will take as long as it takes, no one can be sure.

No, I am the oldest of my siblings... so is this for background checks and things like that. Does this happen to everyone bc I wasn't given a 221g paper the VO said it was approved so Im so confused.

Approved.. pending AP.  All (all) approvals land in AP, most are completed within a couple days, few take weeks, some can take months.

You should not have booked a trip until all visas were in hand. AP has no deadline and can take days, months, years. No one can tell you how long.

Yes but the thing is, the courier services said that there was a passport delivery and didn't specify, we assumed that it meant all of our passports because that makes sense right. We booked our trip and the following Monday the passports came missing mine. Do you think it can actually take years???

So mine could take as long as a few months?

Could conceivably.. but usually doesn't.  No one here on VJ can tell how long.
