How to buy a plane ticket for two in the Philippines? Cebu to MNL

We have our consulate appointment on March 23rd.  (If anyone else here does also drop us a PM if you care to)

I (the US guy) need to buy two flight tickets from Cebu to Manila.  With the help of VJ'ers I know how to do this.

So here is the question:

What specific information do I need for EACH passenger to book the tickets?

Obviously full name, but beyond that?

Date of birth?  Passport ID#?  National ID#?  shoe size?

I may just need each person's full name but best to know before I go and try to purchase just to find that I don't have a piece of needed data.  What is required here in the USA may be very different than what is required in RP.

Thanks

Airlines are different, so it depends on which airline you use.  Some let you do it with the name only, and add the date of birth and passport information later.

I've booked on some other airlines that don't let you buy the ticket without a date of birth and passport number.  Especially if it's an international flight.

A valid picture ID is all that is noted by CebuPacific.   driver's license, passport, personal copy of NBI, employer ID are just some that come to mind.

Greetings!

I am so happy with your appointment but more importantly, you can buy your tickets online via Cebu Pacific. If you are firm about your date and time and with no extra baggage going to Manila then the ticket is as low as P1,645.00 going to Manila and going back to Cebu is as low as P2,773.76. I tried to book two tickets just to see how much will be the total. The grand total for two round-trip tickets without extra baggage is P8,838.64. I just tried choosing the early flight, so it is up to you to choose it, some tickets are limited and some are a little bit higher depending on the time of the day, and if you also add baggage and the meal it will go a little bit higher. So, if you want to save you might consider buying it online only if you are sure as I do not think that they allow altering anything with this promo. Below is the sample of price for March 18 t Manila and March 25 going back to Cebu. Of course, you can always extend or set the date earlier. The point is the ticket is

Two round-trip tickets for only P8,838.64 or $ 169.57 is way cheaper, remember that this will go as high as P10,000 pesos for each ticket if you do not buy it ahead of time.

Goodluck,

Nelma

Additional:

Here is a sample of the same booking above but has a slight difference if you add baggage and meals. Also the different availability of the seat that indicates different prices as well. I wish that I could add more of the photos but it is limited.

I've booked quite a few domestic flights on Cebu Pacific.  Their website can sometimes be annoying, but with some patience it'll work.

I did have one bad experience with them, we booked a flight to MNL from TUG for the day before departing back to the US and the flight got cancelled for "low visibility".  Outside it was mostly cloudy with patches of blue sky.  I can't prove it, but I think the flight wasn't fully booked so they decided it wasn't worth making the trip, so the plane never came from MNL.

Luckily we booked it for the day before our flight to the US, so we had time to get a bus.  After a long 14 hour bus ride, we got to MNL with only a few hours to spare.  When we told the bus station ticket sale office, the lady said that happens often.  We had planned to stay the night in Manila to be fresh for the long flight the next day.

So, I'd recommend you leave at least a day early to make sure you make your appointment.

Oh, and if your checking bag(s) do it online when you book your flight, they charge you more at the gate if you do it there.

There site has gotten a lot better than they were a couple years ago when I last used it. My wife hates Cebu Pacific and I like them for the most past because they are cheap and get you where you need to go, but I certainly won't take them to Dubai anytime soon.

Something like that happened to me with PAL one time when was supposed to fly out from Davao to MNL and then MNL to Dubai that same day. They were having a worker strike up in Manila and the flight NEVER left Manila and thus we could not leave at 7am for the flight. Which I had to fly out last that day on Gulf Air but it was a completely different ticket because if it's combined trying to go to DVO then usually it's almost $500 more expensive. So I was SOL in a bad way seriously. I ended up explaining my situation to PAL, they went right away and booked me a ticket on Cebu Pacific to Manila. I ended up missing my flight to Dubai but I paid for another one on Qatar Airways.

Greetings!

That is so true! I will never buy a ticket that has no ample time between flights. Especially, International connecting flights. Just in case something happens ex. weather wise etc.The above sample flight is just perfect because the OP wanted to be ahead in Manila way before medical and interview. Plus, I always consider extra days ahead just to relax and have extra time to do anything.

I used Cathay Pacific direct flight from Cebu to Dubai and back every time, I used to work in Dubai back in the days for 6 years.

Thanks,

Nelma

Aargh, me mates, the Pirates curse be upon us.....

*sigh*  Ah, that one thing that any female going for medical to St Lukes must be cognizant has, in my opinion, at least statistically, become too risky for the 23rd.  Therefore we will reschedule to the 30th, oh well...

Question:  The interview will be Friday the 30th.  Might someone let me know what is the earliest in the day I can book a return flight?

Meaning if the consulate visit is over at 11am and it takes 2 hours to get to MNL, then any flight after 1pm would seem to work.  But I have no idea how long the consulate visits are?  So what return flight time would be "comfortable" without undue rush getting to the airport?

Thanks

When I did it for my wife on her tourist visa interview I did the flight at or around 5pm just to be sure.
