Hi guys,

I am filling out I-130 and I-130a for my wife. On I-130a part1, page 2 and item number 9b, I don't know what to put its asking for a "date to" but my wife is currently living at that address and its not letting me type present and I dont want to put a random date. What should I do? Leave it blank?

Thanks in advance!!

on the one I filled for my husband I put his birthday, as it was the same place he lived his entire life.

I put her birth date in the "from" field but I can't figure out what to put in the "to" field. I would like to put present as she is living there but its not letting me so my only option right now is to either leave it blank or put a random date in the future which I don't want to do.

Are you sure? When did you file and Has yours been approved if you dont mind me asking. I don't want to get an rfe for something this small. Thank you for the quick response btw.

I am 100% sure I left it blank and I was approved at 254 days after I filed about 8.5 months I am currently waiting for NVC to provide me a case # and Inv#

if that is where she is living now and is still there the day the papers are sent in, then there is no end date to put.

I filed May 2017 and approved Jan 2018

It is frustrating that not all fields on the PDF are fill-able.

You can add the text using a PDF editor; there are some free options online. I have Mac, and it is easy to add text boxes in Preview.

The simplest way is handwriting in "Present" after the form is printed.

I would advise against leaving blank, as the correct answer is "Present"

Add my name to the list of people who printed it out and wrote in "Present". I did this with other fields as well, and hand wrote 'N/A' on blank fields as the PDF editor wouldn't allow slashes.

Leave it blank in the PDF and then hand write PRESENT in the printed form.  It's a flaw in the form.

Yes, and being placed in Nebraska adds, 2 months in average to the process! Average Time for Nebraska is (8 to 10 months~)

I left mine blank, and anything I couldn't fill out in pdf left blank also I had no problem.
