I was told that it costs alot of money to get a one sided divorce filed? Like around 7-$8,000? She doesn't have the money to do that sort of thing right now. My parents and I were thinking that we tell her we will never sign divorce papers; she can pay for it with her own money. UNLESS she helps us with the interview. I don't think this is illegal, bribing with money is but I think this is fine.

Btw, thank you for all of the responses so far by the way didn't expect so much in such a short time.

Divorce are very cheap in Texas.  Average cost for courthouse fees statewide are a tad under $300.

If you are indigent you can get a free divorce in Texas.  It doesn't cost a lot of money for a one sided divorce.

It doesn't matter if you don't sign the divorce or not, the divorce is gonna to happen in Texas, they have no fault divorce here.

Hmm okay. I'll have to tell my parents that's not a good idea then.
I've tried to beg and plead and everything under the sun to get her to help me... Thats why I tried to look elsewhere for options. But I will keep trying to get her to cooperate.

Duffy:

Thats odd then... If it's easy to get I think she would've done it by now... I haven't gotten any notice or anything saying she has proceeded with divorce papers. I don't understand whats going on in her brain right now (when do we ever)

Process Server (Constable) or by registered mail is usually the way it is done in Texas.

You have 21 days to answer the summons or divorce will be granted in her favor.  Seek a lawyer advice once you get divorce papers

Correction - It is still process server in Texas, or you can sign a waiver of citation.  Which basically means you received the petition of divorce other than by process server,  usually hand delivered by the person filing the divorce.

Tried to look up info on what a process server is and I'm not really understanding... Something coming in the mail or someone actually meeting with me to let me know the divorce has started?

Usually a constable hired by the petitioner to serve the actual petition of divorce to you in person.

Its obvious she is mad at you for something. Whether you are guilty or not of this real or imagined transgression the first step to forgiveness is apologizing.  Talk to the wife, tell her you love and that you are sorry for all the pain you have caused blah blah. Right now she should be the most important thing in your life and reconciling with her should be your number one task

Sounds like you're more interested in your greencard than your marriage.

Doesn't sound very bonafide

It was very much so bonafide. I'm just respecting that she doesn't want to try again and at least come out of this with somewhat of a liveable life after this.

I hear you. I've apologized many times and never said anything hurtful or mean to her once she initially left me. I'm a guy that likes straight up honesty and she doesn't and I didn't catch onto that. I was too honest sometimes and that hurt her. She said we just weren't compatible and I wasn't listening to her which I've sincerely apologized for over and over and went to counseling to help find solutions to fix my behavior... After months of trying to change her heart she won't even respond to me. Deleted/blocked me on snapchat, deleted her facebook, unfollowed me on twitter(which I don't give af about bc I don't use twitter), but her instagram account is still up and still has pictures of us up still. Again, no clue what is going on in this woman's brain...

Ben/Zian, just saw in your timeline... you didn't have to go to the first interview? They approved it before they even sent the interview notice?

Wow that's a pretty abrupt move by a wife....and you truly have no clue as to what you've done/what she thinks you may have done?

Earlier you said you were straight up honest with her all the time---possibility she started to feel belittled by you? (depending on how you came across to her about certain things, and how often)

Yup, no interview just approved and GC in the mail. Not everyone has to go to an interview. Each case is unique in it's own way so.

She used to run away from her parents place as a kid alot, and has made pretty impulsive decisions before. Idk, those might be irrelevant but might've played a part.

And yes, that's exactly what she said. That she was tired of me belittling her and criticizing her. I didn't realize I was doing this and I felt incredibly sorry for hurting her like that... I didn't have her high enough on my priority list either. I've pointed out all of the things I thought I was doing wrong to her and how I will fix them and she was still set in her decision...
