Not sure where you got this from, but I applied (and got approved for) a mortgage as a permanent resident just fine.

the underwriter might have an issue because the green card extension letter will

expire and I’m trying to explain that it doesn’t mean the residency expires as it’s still in progress . So im

tying to find proof it doesn’t mean he’s suddenly illegal he just has to get the infopass stampmfor extension until we get a response.

LPRs are fine to obtain a mortgage. The most common issue is they usually don't have much of a credit history, so (like anybody without a credit history), they may have some difficulty finding a lender willing to offer a loan.

I applied for mortgage with my wife (who is a USC) and they approved it based on pending AOS. They even accepted my EAD as proof of residency.

What bank are you going with for a mortgage? That might be the problem right there.

So bizarre . We are filing jointly too. They think as soon as his extension letter expires he’s suddenly going to get shipped out.

Your lender seems to be unaware of the rules. I have few friends who got approved on H1 visa which is not even LPR. I haven't heard any lender speculating future and denying. Is it too late to switch lenders? I can let you know the lenders who don't have this rule so that you can try your mortgage from them.

the infopass information because I really dread going through this process again and them hitting our credit with inquiries etc. He’s completely legal and will still be that’s what I am

insisting with them. So damn ridiculous. They need to get informed and im
