I called to submit my expedite request due to financial hardship (job offer) on 7/25, sent my documents on 8/5, received confirmation of fax on 8/8.

Today my local congress office informed me that the national benefits center need more evidence for me to prove financial hardship (i originally just sent cover letter and job offer). I am so frustrated by this entire process, all we want to do is work!!!

Has anyone else experienced being asked for more evidence after faxing your job offer?

I think they are looking for evidence that you have a financial hardship and "need" the additional income. It's a bit tricky with K-1s since the USC is supposed to be able to financially support both parties. In our case, my hours have been reduced 40 percent due to a company slowdown resulting in a 40 percent reduction in salary. We used my pay stubs and a newspaper article about the company which supported our claim. Our request was granted.

Hey guys,

Unfortunately, my expedite request was rejected, as per USCIS email: "You did not provide evidence of an extreme emergent need". I only submitted my job offer along with the cover letter explaining how this job is important for me.

I am now thinking to submit second expedite request in few weeks, but this time include also bills to show the financial expenses to prove that my family needs additional income source. Do you think it is worst to try? Have anyone experienced similar situation?

That’s really tough. You are the first rejection I have read about based on a job offer. I would definitely try expediting again and I would send:

the offer letter

a personal covering letter expressing your need to take the job for financial reasons

bank statements if helpful

statements of any debts: credit cards, student loans, medical expenses etc

I would absolutely try again. Good luck.

Got some great news today.

We applied to expedite my I-131 on August 12th. I was originally given an emergency AP on August 5 after my father’s passing. I went back to Canada between the 5-11 on that, but had to come back to the US for various reasons. Applied for expedite as I need to settle his estate and scatter his ashes.

Requested expedite via phone - August 12

Evidence requested - August 16

Evidence faxed - August 19

We were fortunate enough to not require assistance from a senator or congressperson.

Notification today that our card is being produced :) expedited on 7-17! YAY!

Hey, I guess you must have received the combo card by now, Congratulations! How long did it take you to receive the card was mailed status after the "card is being produced notice, and when did you finally receive your card in the mail, if you don't mind sharing this was me.

I got a notification of New Card is being produced on August 22nd and today received the approval notices in mail but the EAD itself is still at "New Card is being produced" and not even tracking yet.

Thank you and good luck

I never got this update, it moved from Case was received to new card is being produced, but I contacted them before, was told that the EAD application is being routed for expedite processing and that there's a backlog in that too. It got approved about 2:3 weeks after that.

So that update is very good news, yet you have to wait a bit until they send the new card being produced status, I think.

Hi Sorry for your loss!

I was wondering if I could ask you if you received any updates after than or new status on the website? Was the card mailed to you? I'm in the exact same boat at the moment and I received the approval notices in the mail today but the EAD status online is still at New Card is being produced and nothing in Informed Delivery either.

Thank you.

Thank you! I hope mine will change today but I generally had a problem with the website that it doesn't update quickly and I receive letters with updates so I don't know they might have sent it as well.

Do you have informed Delivery?
