Oh boy. I'm starting to think nobody at any stage of this process knows anything about how it all works. I submitted an expedite request over the phone with a tier 1 on May 31st, and got an email a couple hours later saying: "We received your request to expedite the decision on your application. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly. " I got no request for evidence, so after a week  of waiting I contacted my congressman's office, where the immigration specialist was very friendly and helpful. He asked me to email him my evidence for the request, and I sent it on Monday. Yesterday, he forwarded me an email that he received which reads: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter.  This case will be routed for expedited processing.  Once this case is reviewed, your constituent will receive a decision or notice of further action." I emailed him back asking whether that meant my expedite was approved, and if it means my case is now in the pile to be adjudicated, and he said yes! Cue me feeling very positive!

So this morning, seeing that there was no update on the website, I managed to speak to a Tier 2 representative, who told me that actually they have 60 days to review my evidence, and that she doesn't see any record of my evidence or the congressman's office submitting a request. Again I say, oh boy. I see from this thread that everyone has a different experience with this process...any advice/similar experience to me/positivity that you could share would be great! I have a job starting July 6th.

p.s. I've already been waiting over 6 months...

❤️

I wouldn’t worry about this. If the Congressman’s office says it was expedited l, then it was. The officers really don’t have a clue. Sometimes they even try to intimidate you. I had an officer say to a friend of mine that they would rescind his i864 if he claims financial loss. Just wait 2 days and ask the congressman’s office to resubmit an inquiry. Good luck.

Hey there! I was also told that it can take up to 60 days for them to adjudicate an expedite request when you submit it yourself. I'm currently on day 45 (filed the expedite on Apr 29th) and have no updates.. I've also submitted expedites through both my senator and representative. My senator said that I should expect an answer within 30 days although I think different congressional offices have given different timelines. Neither of my congressional expedites have been recorded in my online account but I think that's normal. Overall I think your timeline is fairly standard so far. Fingers crossed!!

Holy update you guys!!!! Our status just changed to "Card in Production"!!!!!!!  We didn't have any other notifications on the case beyond the first send fax "case open/closed" on February 2nd. I'm shocked.

Hopefully everyone hears back soon! Contact your Congressman/Senator, if you haven't. I feel that made a difference. We're at around 60 days total.

Sorry, I'm new to the idea of expediting EAD. Can you explain how involving your Congressman/Senator helps and how you got in contact with them / what you asked? Thank you!!

Find your congressman here: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative Their website should give you instructions as to how you can contact them.

The upside is that you have an influential person/team looking into your case that USCIS can somewhat be held accountable to, especially if you don't have a lawyer. The downside is that, depending on the office, the staff may have no clue what to do and give you terrible advice (eg: "just go to the USCIS office!" or "I think you can work if you're married to a US citizen!").

I have a question...I'm in the requesting EAD expediting process so very sensitive to any kind of updates from USCIS.

I received several "we are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time" emails and I usually don't pay much attention to them.

However, today I received this email again, but the "we last took action on your case" part shows May 3rd, which is a reverse back from May 23rd that they showed in an email two days ago.

What does this mean? Are these emails totally random or contain some sort of accuracy?

The only explanation I can think of is, my 485 and 765's last update date is May 23rd, and my I-131 is shown still on May 3rd when its first received.  Does it mean they send emails for the four cases separately, and someone just touched my 131?

So both of my NC senators's offices and the congresswoman have been very responsive. I figured I should work with one office first instead of all - the problem is that this office told me the only thing they could do is to submit an inquiry to check on my status, which they did and this was USCIS's response: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. We have requested the file, and it will be reviewed by an officer once we receive the file. Your constituent should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this notice."

Not really helpful....This senator's office also added that "Please understand an inquiry from a Senate/Congressional office does not “expedite” the processing of a petition. The USCIS service centers process all petitions in the chronological order that they are received to be fair to all applicants."

I have two other offices to try but figured I should ask here to see what your senators/congresswo/man have done for your case besides submitting an inquiry? I do have a pending job offer, which was what USCIS asked me to fax over.

Huge congratulations!

What was was your timeline? And process?

Thank you!!! Here's my timeline. I pretty much did everything that people on this thread has done in this order:

- Called USCIS to request expedite due to a pending offer

- USCIS emailed asking to fax proof the offer. Now, about my offer letter, I worked with my employer to set my start date as TODAY - which shows the urgency of my case.

- I didn't just send my offer letter. I prepared a whole 34-page document that includes: cover letter explaining my situation, job offer, outstanding loans, outstanding monthly expenses, outstanding medical expenses and health insurance - pretty much everything that I stand to lose. I also mention that I have already accumulated six months of unemployment gap so losing this opportunity would negatively impact me professionally.

- I contacted both NC senators and my district congresswoman immediately after USCIS confirming they received my fax. Now, they all submitted inquiries about my case not requesting to expedite so I am not sure which one really helped my case or all of them, lol.

- What I also did was to fax USCIS again, using the number and the specific team that handles my case, with another letter talking about the urgency and asking for immediate consideration.

Hope that helps! Here's my timeline:

I did a fax cover page listing contents, addressed to the exact department on the email. Then a letter explaining my need to expedite, then I had 9 pages of supporting evidence. I scanned it, saved it as a pdf and faxed it online.
