I had some trouble getting an answer from my senator and representative initially but they finally both filed inquiries for me earlier this week. If I don't hear back in the next couple of weeks, I'll probably call them. Last time I called USCIS for an update though they told me it can take up to 60 days. I guess we'll see. Glad you got yours and hope it made your weekend a bit better :)

I’m not entirely convinced the Senator/Congress intervention makes a difference on the USCIS response time, but maybe what it does is bring your application to awareness from the stacks and stacks of applications.

60 days for an Expedite response is excessive, given the notion of why we filed expedited anyway.

I would definitely be calling again this week, as you’ll probably get a different officer and maybe one who’ll give you some additional attention.

Good luck!!  Keep us posted!!

I know, 60 days is ridiculous given the need for an expedite request in the first place. Thank you for your encouragement!

As I understand it, when you file a request through their office, it goes to a different "response" team, specifically for requests coming from congressional inquiries. Also according to my senator, it should take up to 30 days for USCIS to decide on the request following the senator's inquiry. If the 60 days timeline USCIS gave me is accurate (and I'm taking that with a grain of salt) then filing through a congressperson is worth it / faster. I guess if someone is reading this thread thinking of filing an expedite, my advice would be to contact your senator and representative asap. In the end, no one knows with USCIS but it can't hurt..

Pssst!  I, too, used a Congressional Inquiry to assist in my case.  The response from USCIS just a few days ago:  Your constituent’s case is still within anticipated Processing Times.  Please wait until the constituent’s application processing reaches in excess of anticipated Processing Time frames.

Hence my suspicions....  😏

But, as you say, it can’t hurt....

I think it’s odd that when my card arrived, the valid date is from May 2016 to May 2020. It’s back dated 3 years. Weird 😮

How long until you got your card after card in production status ? Mine changed to card in production on 06/05/19. Nothing since then.  I just hope it gets here by the 18th because my current work permit expires 06/19/2019.

It took mine 7 days from production to delivery so you will get yours possibly on 12th or 14th. I wouldn’t worry because you have time. It will arrive before the 19th.

According to a tier 2 officer, they have 30 business days to respond to requests. That's actually 6 weeks. It's pretty normal not to hear anything after faxing evidence. If you call and ask for Tier 2 they *might* be helpful, but likely no one will be able to confirm whether they received the evidence. It's all very frustrating.  I sent my fax twice just in case but still didn't hear anything, and it's been 5 weeks.

I am in the same boat.

How long ago did you send your two faxes? Have you involved your senator or congressperson?

Ok so here is my situation and I really need some input from people who have been through this process.

I arrived here on a K1 visa. Got married.

We filed out AOS/EAD/AP on March 7th.

I called and requested to expedite the I-131 (AP) on the grounds of severe financial loss.

Basically we allowed double the processing time and planned for a wedding ceremony in Spain. We have shelled out over $4,000 in costs which are non refundable, so unless I receive the AP and they allow me to leave the country we will lose the lot, which we really cannot afford to do! Especially as we are living on one wage. Our in laws have paid a portion of this too.

On May 31st I telephone to expedite the I-131 (Advance Parole).

On June 6th I received an E Mail requesting the information to be faxed. I faxed it all on the same day.

On June 7th I spoke to my Senator's office and she agreed to look into the expedite today. 10th.

Today I found out I have a dental issue that urgently needs addressing and the simple truth is, I cannot afford to have the dental work done here in the US (I have no insurance). Is it worth me contacting USCIS to add this to my severe financial loss claim that I also wish to have dental work done outside of the US? Not sure if it will help or hinder our cause.

In the meantime I have a raging toothache and need a root canal and a headache from USCIS.

I think I sent the faxes first on April 22nd and then again maybe two weeks later. I did involve my congressperson - they said there was nothing to be done unless my husband had a solid job offer and/or we could document severe financial loss. We still haven't heard anything, and every time we call they put in a "service request" which is pointless.

It was severe financial loss. I already have a work permit from DACA. It expires this month in the 19th, I applied for EAD renewal with AOS application back in April and requested the expedite. So I’m already employed and they required a termination letter from my job explaining they would have to end my employment if I did not get my work permit renewal in time. I also included a cover letter explaining my financial loss due to medical bills, school loans, house bills , and the the fact that me and my husband just had a baby this past January and need both incomes.
