It’s really luck sometimes but I think involving my congresswoman got me the win. I was actually ready to wait a while and was surprised of how fast this was approved

What a dream! My husband submitted an expedite request for his EAD on 04/23 and has not heard a thing (severe financial loss due to loss of job offer and single family income). We spoke to a tier 2 rep this morning, who told us that the wait time can take up to 30 days or more depending on the officer it is assigned to. We checked our case status this evening and found an ugly RFE request for his I-485 application. Very sad considering we’ve filed numerous forms (for his K-1 visa) without a single RFE... it feels like we experienced a major setback. We inquired about the i-765 and have action on the i-485? Weird... and unfortunate since his i-765 is halted.

Yes, an RFE really puts a damper on things. I wanted to hire a lawyer when I started and the lawyer told me I didn’t need him. I have a flawless record and I am a practicing physician so I don’t know if that helped too.

I would ask that you involve your congressperson. According to the one I spoke to, their requests go to a congressional unit and not the reps you speak to so this really speeds things up.

Did you get a request for your evidence at least? Don’t feel hopeless, there is hope yet. If you haven’t involved your congressperson, please do that too.

Congrats!!!! Did USCIS let you know that they received your fax?

I just faxed them today and damn, efax messed my documents up - they only sent a few of the docs instead of everything... So I ended up having to resend everything again. I don't know if they will accept it like that.

Hi everyone,

I used efax today to submit my evidence documents and for some damn reasons, they only sent half of those docs instead of all and my offer letter and their original email request weren't even included. I just had to re-efax everything just now and this time everything was included the way i wanted. Do you think they will only look at my first, failed submission and then reject my expedite request T_____T

I was not notified that they received the fax. After faxing, my status just changed to "New card being produced" and then I received an approval letter in the mail later. You did well by re-sending them. When I faxed mine, I actually accidentally faxed three additional wrong documents that weren't supposed to be included and I thought they would ask for something new but they didn't.

I just feel super stressed now because efax really messed up my first submission. Like neither of their original email request nor my job offer was included. Ugh.

I wouldn't stress too much if the second fax was sent successfully with the correct documents. Every time you send a fax with the LA.., DIV..., TEAM cover, it goes to the same officer and he/she will just look through to find the document he had asked for. The documents I faxed was 35 pages long, I doubt they read them all 😂

All the best to those sending off information!

I have called the number and asked to expedite, and got an email response that says "We received your request to expedite the decision on your application. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly." I'm guessing this means I need to wait to receive a letter in the mail before I send my cover letter/job offer etc?

I contacted our local congresswoman to help, and got some seriously bad information on the phone. The rep said that USCIS won't communicate with them until at least 60 days since the expedite request, and that they could do nothing for us. She also was confused as to why I wanted a green card instead of citizenship, so I don't think I'll risk anything going through her office! :(

Yes I was a bit confused by that initial email response.  However a few days later I received my email with information on what and where to fax my stuff. Hang in there.
