Yes, it is normal. Guess what, just a minute ago i got a notification that 'New Card Is Being Produced'. Expedite indeed worked, not sure if it was congressman who did the magic or expediting directly with USCIS. Glad you got it approved too.

Amazing congrats!!!!

Sure will do. Yes i reached out to my congressman as well and they sent the expedite request as well. Haven't heard anything after the email we received on 19th. Hopefully we both hear the good news today. Good luck

Did you reach out to your congressman by letter? or by phone? We have a letter written up but phone seems more direct.

We submitted an expedite request on April 9th and faxed the supporting evidence to USCIS on April 16th (the USCIS website noted that the case was 'completed' on the 12th, and when we called USCIS they said the letter asking for supporting evidence was mailed rather than e-mailed, so we got the Attention info over the phone). We haven't received any word that the fax was received or any other follow-up. Is this normal given that it's been about a week now? Should we try re-faxing just in case or is that not smart (especially since, as noted below, we will have Congress send stuff on our behalf as well)? (Note that we tried calling to find out whether the fax was received but was told that it would be a 2hr+ wait for a tier 2 agent, and that's just not feasible on a weekday given work).

We contacted Congress yesterday, and just mailed the privacy release form. So I will follow back up with them either Friday or Monday so that they can also send USCIS the relevant forms.

I asked the congresswoman for help for two weeks, and no update coming from them. Do you have similar experiences with caseworkers who don't communicate anything, or even worse don't work on your case at all?

Ive been waiting for a month, still nothing

I went to congressman's office and provided him all the required documents. I also placed an expedite request directly with USCIS on April 10th, received first email on April 12th asking to fax them job offer termination letter. My new employer provided a letter stating "if i don't receive work authorization by April 29th, they will terminate my job offer". I faxed all documents on April 15th and received an update on April 19th that we will hear a decision shortly. On April 23rd,  my case updated to "New card is in production".  I cannot believe expedite actually works. Got the approval on 76th day after filing AOS.

I would recommend directly calling USCIS to expedite the EAD process and then reaching out to congressman by phone if not in person,. Good luck!

Not yet. Maybe I will refax them when I receive the actual letter in the mail. That way I can attach the cover letter/job offer letter/employer letter to a scanned copy of the letter... just don't like seeing no recognition.

Congratulations!! Great news indeed. My update is "card has been mailed" as of this past Friday. There is no tracking number though. Any idea how long will it take to be delivered?
