I have neither received RFE nor any sort of response after expedite request. Its just sitting in a black hole

Here are my timelines

08/27  - Filed for AOS/EAD along with 485 at MSC

10/29 - Requested expedite
11/13 - Got letter asking additional evidence
11/15 - Faxed all the  details
11/16 - Senator followed up

Has anyone been in this kind of situation before where there is no updated on EAD expedite request as well for so long ?

I am in the same boat with a difference of timeline

09/21 - Filed AOS/EAD/131

10/29 -  biometrics

11/14 - expedite request

11/16 - email received for proof/ proof sent

11/30 - senator follow up

12/7 - response from senator as mention above

I am still waiting and no RFE received

I received this update from USCIS ombudsman. Hopefully good news on its way540292745_Screenshot_2018-12-17-23-17-372.thumb.png.df2f06c136b4302348a9e0a630d985e5.png

At this point, I don’t think the senator/congresman/ombudsman’s request would help with anything.

Anyone with a job offer or a letter from your company stating why they need you, I highly recommend you guys to visit your local Field Office. You don't need an Infopass appointment if you have the letter from your company. I did a walk-in, told the security guard that I need an expedite on the work permit, he let me in. Then, when I was at the check-in window, the lady said she only allowed walk-in for expedite for those with company's letter. I met with an officer, he asked for the explanation for why I need expedite, looked at my supporting evidence and then he scanned everything and said he would place my request on the expedite queue. Around 2-3 minutes later he told me my request was actually being looked at at that moment and around a week later I got the approval notice. I think the field office does help with expedite so you guys should really try it. Good luck!

Is there a time frame for them to make decision on expedition requests? 30 days?

Nope. At the discretion of the officer.

Where are you in your timeline? Did USCIS definitely receive your evidence for the expedite?

PD 08/01

Requested for expedition 12/07

Received email asking for evidence and faxed in the same day 12/10

Already ask for help from congresswoman and senator, recieve nothing from them after sending in the letter explaining the situation and job offer.

Nada until now.

I called 1 week after faxing (12/17), the guy said they received the fax the previous day.

But when I called again on 12/21, the clueless woman kept saying “you have to wait sir” like 10 times to answer my questions and she said there’s no way to check if they have received the evidence or not.

Job starts on 01/14, I’m afraid I have to ask the company to move the start date to a month. I lost my job on campus on 12/12 due to student status expiration.

:(

On the side note, a friend of mine having PD 07/30 just received her card in the mailbox on 12/24.

Eh, if someone said they received it, they probably had--could always try asking for an L2 officer and asking them instead to confirm. Since it's the holidays, it's entirely possible that the officer assigned to it went on vacation. If you call again, ask a tier 2 if your expedite request has been assigned. Your wait time isn't particularly unreasonable at this time, but that rides on the fact that they definitely received your stuff and someone is actually looking at it and it's not just sitting in a misplaced pile. Looks like expedites in general are taking longer and longer.

By 1/7 or so, consider asking your future employer to extending your start date just in case.

Folks, finally my EAD status changed to "New Card is being produced" yesterday.

Senator had to follow up again, Senator's office told me this time they reached out to USCIS over the phone and got a specific response about my case from them.

Anyways I'm super happy....Yippppy!!!! 😎

I would suggest don't lose hope, continuous follow-ups and patience is the key, provided you have a genuine reason to convince USCIS and Senator/congressman

Here is my updated timeline

08/27  - Filed for AOS/EAD along with 485 at MSC

10/29 - Requested expedite
11/13 - Got letter asking additional evidence
11/15 - Faxed all the  details
11/16 - Senator followed up

12/17 - Senator followed up again (via phone)

12/19 - Got specific response from USCIS (not the generic one)

12/28 - Status Changed to "New Card is being produced" (MSC is super crazy even my expedite request took 2 months 🙄even holidays during my timeline may have added up the days)

Calling USCIS may not help you anymore...please try to reach out to congressman/Senator they are the best bet. If not try a personal visit to FO as they might be help to help you out (I haven't tried this)
