Placed an EAD expedite request via phone earlier in the week and they gave us a case number. However we never got an email explaining where or how to send supporting documentation. how long should we wait before contacting them about this?

2 weeks is the max you should wait, if you haven't heard anything call the customer care and talk to L2 officer

I don't think talking to an L2 officer would help with anything.

Yes you are right sorry my bad, now you can imagine my frustration, but thanks for pointing out the dates

Moreover National Benefit Center is MSC which is the slowest center in processing EAD, AFAIK they are processing July EAD now

Here is the updated timeline

10/29- Requested expedite

11/13 - Got letter asking additional evidence for claim made

11/15 - Faxed all the details

11/16 - Senator followed up

Did you receive approval at all?

Yes it did in my case, on Oct 31 i saw 3 updates on my case history but the letter asking for additional details didn't show up in my mailbox. Looks like USPS lost it somewhere

I called up the customer care on Nov 13th they transferred over to L2, and L2 officer had to fax me the letter which was sent requesting additional details.

Unfortunately not yet, Senator got the generic response from USCIS that they will look into that. Senator office is planning to follow up again on Monday for any further update.

never ending wait is still on 😓

Has your 485 been changed to "Ready to schedule the interview" at all? Mine has not. I think it has something to do with this. It's like if your case is not ready, they won't grant you any benefit (EAD/AP).

And when did you file the AOS?

Just to throw it out there, they need the biometrics check completed for EAD (not necessarily the full background check), and they do verify that your I-485 is complete before approving the EAD, expedited or not, so by requesting the EAD expedite, you're also asking an officer to review your I-485 documentation, and if you were going to get an RFE at some point, you'll receive it earlier.

However, you don't need the "case is ready to be scheduled" status for them to know that your I-485 is in order, and that status doesn't necessarily mean that your full background check is completed.

For what it's worth, my case became "ready to be scheduled" a month after my EAD expedite was approved.

Ah, that's quite comfort to know. I did receive the RFIE when I requested for the expedition on Nov 7th. Took me a month to gather all the documents then put in another request for expedition on Dec 7th.

It showed they received the response but not changed to "Case ready to schedule...".

I have neither received RFE nor any sort of response after expedite request. Its just sitting in a black hole

Here are my timelines

08/27  - Filed for AOS/EAD along with 485 at MSC

10/29 - Requested expedite
11/13 - Got letter asking additional evidence
11/15 - Faxed all the  details
11/16 - Senator followed up

Has anyone been in this kind of situation before where there is no updated on EAD expedite request as well for so long ?

From what I gathered, the "Case is ready to be scheduled" status may or may not mean anything, and you may or may not get it (sometimes they just schedule an interview), but the most common meaning for that status appears to be "ok, we sent your stuff to your local field office, ball's in their court now." They also appear to do so in batches; when my status changed, so did the status of a ton of other people with similar PDs but totally different offices.

As long as they received your response, you're good. Who knows how long it will take them to review it, and after they do, your status may or may not change. My interview was scheduled the same month I got "ready to be scheduled" and others wait another year for the interview itself. Some people still get RFIEs after they're "ready to be scheduled". It's a bit of a crapshoot. Good luck on the expedite though!

If you faxed everything a month ago and there have been no updates online at all--have you called them up and asked if they even received it? Could be nothing (things take time, the officer assigned to your case could've been sick, backlogs) or could be that it got lost.

When I faxed the document through a service on Monday, they used an online thing, not traditional faxing as we all know. It was a bit weird to me. On Friday I called them up because I didn't see any updates on the cases, they said the fax was received on Thursday which is 4 working days later.

Called them and spoke to the customer care and spoke to L2 officer, they cannot confirm if the fax was received or not. Told to wait n watch officers will update the status

I don't know man, that's kinda weird. "Can't confirm" could mean "leave us alone" or "didn't receive it as far as I can see".

If I were you, I'd have faxed it again. If they still can't confirm a month later, ask if they're OK with you faxing it again and if the fax details remain the same, since you're just wanting to make sure they have all the information they need to make a decision.

It it were me, I would have mail the evidence over night as well, of course with their email on top.
