My AOS NOA was on June 11

Applied Expedite request yesterday under Job Offer category.

There is no Job Offer category for an expedite.

Expedite criteria: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-1-part-a-chapter-5

Typically people request it under the severe financial loss category.

Note: "The need to obtain employment authorization, standing alone, without evidence of other compelling factors, does not warrant expedited treatment."

So I would suggest supplying evidence of how the lack of employment would be a hardship to you or your family, not just rely on the job offer alone.

Thanks mate i should have been more clearer but i actually told them it’s because of severe financial loss and if i don’t get this job it will cause financial loss and all that and the fact i have job offer a favourable decision from USCIS  on my expedite request will help our household situation greatly. It was via Emma chat and that’s how it went.

P.S what kinda evidence should i supply to prove that lack of employment will cause us hardship?

Cheers

Hey everyone just a quick question we requested an expedite on Monday and faxed over documents on Tuesday and today our case updated to “request for additional documents received” and then “expedite request approved”

does that mean our EAD is approved?

it says “we are processing your case and will send you a notice with our final decision” underneath that.

im tentatively happy but not sure

It means the expedite is approved. The adjudication of the I-765 will be next...probably an approval if all is fine or an RFE/RFIE if there is an issue with that or the underlying I-485 (typically I-864 issues).

The even better news is that your approval notice should reflect the day the expedite was approved, meaning you should be able to just work on the approval notice if your card takes a while to get to you.

Technically yes...although without the physical card, they won't meet the I-9 documentation requirements. So unless one is doing self-employment or something (or the employer is willing to violate federal law...), the card is needed before actually working.

They changed the rules yesterday for all those with approval notices (up to and including 20th August).

That’s why I mentioned the good news about the dates: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-verification-during-ead-production-delays-due-to-covid-19
