From what I've seen in the forum lately, USCIS sent out both EAD and SSN. I saw some people saying they received SSN after one week of receiving EAD

Finally received EAD in hand!!! 🥳

No SSN yet though, but where would the ssn be coming from, the local ssa office or somewhere else? I would call my local ssa office but not sure what to ask them.

Congrats, still waiting for my tracking number, guess it'll be next week for me.

Was yours a combo card or just the EAD?

The EAD card I received says "serves as I-512 advance parole". So mine is a combo card.

Yea your  SSN should arrive next week.

Today, 11 days after having called USCIS to request the expedite, I finally had 2 letters in the mail. The 2 letters are 100% identical. One email on the day after my call would have made me happier haha. Going to fax the job offer letter tomorrow.

2023-02-27: Package was delivered

2023-03-03: Money order was cashed

2023-03-09: Received 48 months extension letter in mail

2023-05-20: Greencard expired

2024-10-04: Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken

Great news! It’s so odd that most people including me receive email but you get the mail lol

Does anyone have experience requesting an expedite even if you received an RFE? I have an RFE for the I-485 which I'm working on responding to. I know they wouldn't process by EAD until that RFE is approved, but should I bother requesting an expedite for the EAD in the meantime so they have it on file? Or should I just wait until they've received my RFE response and then request it.

My current EAD expires at the end of May.

Per the advice I received after asking this question, I submitted my RFE response on Saturday (should arrive today) and once they update the status to say it was received, I will be requesting an EAD expedite.

Does anyone have experience with requesting an expedite on the basis that they will lose work authorization for an existing job? I have an EAD through F-1 that expires May 31, 2020. I am wondering how I should phrase my cover letter : should I still focus on severe financial loss? My husband isn't working right now due to COVID so I have plenty of reasons why I want to expedite, just wondering if there is a specific process for those who already have an EAD that's expiring and will be keeping their existing job, rather than someone who hasn't been working and has received a job offer.

Thanks!

Well you job was a for a set period, having married gives you an opportunity to carry on working you would not otherwise have had.

And losing a job that does not result in financial loss would not be expidtable so you have to go that way.

I am in exactly the same situation and have just requested an expedite today. I will let you know how it goes...

What a stressful situation. Would be such a shame to put our careers on hold.

Have you spoken to your employer about administrative leave?

Good luck! Yes, keep us posted. What did you submit as evidence? And when did you submit your AOS application?

Yes, my employer is aware of the situation. I am hoping it won't be too long of a wait.

Evidence of severe financial loss. My application was received by USCIS end of Jan and I completed biometrics in Feb. Been waiting with no communication since then.
