EAD Expedite Timeline After Fax Request

http://hellofax.com gives you some free pages (and if you join in the trail month it'll give you a couple of hundred pages for a month).

Anyways, I called them because I was literally instructed to ask for a tier 2 officer if I hadn't heard from them last Thursday (was busy at Friday). Seems the agents are just trying to hurry persons off the phone now. I hope you do get some more progress though, Imma call them today too as well because I realize alot of the agents seem to be not sure what to say.

Just got off the phone, a lot of BS indeed. Turns out the 'escalation' they talked about last Thursday is just putting in a new expedite request, so to me it feels rather useless, but I agreed to it in the hopes it passes a set of eyes. I was told stuff contrary to all the others I've talked to, so it indeed seems that no-one knows how things work. I was explained a bit more about what they can see though, at one point the 'tier 2 officer' literally said 'we're just a call centre, we don't know anything either and are just guessing', so that's always good to know.  

 

Either way, the general message was: 'I don't know, the other people were wrong, or maybe not, I don't know, just wait, but I'll escalate it by putting in a new expedite request, wait another week.'   

 

Honestly I have little useful information to share with you, although oddly enough I've got a good feeling about this week, can't explain.

It's just a routine update telling you they have completed your expedite request. The result is unknown yet and you need to wait...

I have been researching because I have nothing better to do and was wondering about 2 things.

1. With the EAD expedite approved, can ombudsman, congressman or e-request help anything?

2. What is an interim EAD and does it still exist?

2. EAD is by definition an interim measure as opposed to full authorisation granted by a GC.

1. You can let the congressman know that your expedite request has been approved but haven’t received anything. They will follow up with USCIS if they find your case genuine. There are people designated specifically to work on Congressman requests at USCIS. In my case, it helped because the person working at the congresswoman’s office talked to a USCIS rep 20 days after I reached out to them, who followed up with the officer that had my case file and got my EAD approved the next day.

 

these days with the covid issues I don’t know if they have enough bandwidth to do this.
