Congrats! thanks for sharing.

Which service center handled your application?

What was the reason you asked expedite? just the job offer? asking because i got a denial last week and i'm going to try to expedite again.

You didn’t ask me but perhaps my info might be of use to you as well.

All my stuff is at the National Benefits Center in Missouri (MSC). When the officer on the phone listed the different reasons to choose from I went with personal financial loss and indicated that I had a pending job offer. In the email they stated the following:

Quote

Upon receipt of your request for expeditious handling, your case was reviewed and a determination was made that we need additional information to make a decision regarding your request. Please fax proof of your extreme emergent need, proof of a pending job offer, or severe financial loss to the following number

So I send them a cover letter explaining the situation a bit more and tried to touch upon the three qualifiers (extreme emergent need, job offer and severe financial loss) while I was doing it.

I explained that my wife had to drop out of work for a while to prepare for her bar exam and that ties into the extreme emergent need because it will be impossible to cover our monthly expenses without either of us working, I explained I had a job offer (which ties into the job offer they ask about) and that not being to accept the job will result in severe financial loss (they stated year salary in the job offer).

With that I supplied a copy of their email as requested by them, the job offer and other supporting documents like for example a copy of all of the bills we paid last month.

I don’t know if it matters where the underlying I-765 because when I called in to ask if they had received my fax a tier 1 officer explained to me that all the expedites are handled by one team. It sounded a bit like BS to me if only because they ask you to address the fax to a specific team and division which seems moot if there only is one so take it with a grain of salt.

National Benefits Center

Reason to expedite was active job offer from company and personal financial loss. we only attached copy of the email they sent us, cover letter and job offer letter.

I got a notice that my card was mailed just now. I'm honestly so thankful it went so fast (even thought it feels like a lifetime)

If you have a basis to, I would recommend to expedite as soon as you are done with biometrics. I requested to expedite my case in the parking lot at the USCIS Support Center as soon as I walked out from the biometrics appointment.

Hey guys!

I got my EAD card in the mail yesterday then I was wondering if the Social security card is gonna come in the mail too and just to make sure I called to the SSA toll-free and they couldn’t give me any information by phone. So I went today to the SSA and they told me that USCIS didn’t submit any application so I did my own. I highly recommend you guys to go and check that because we already WAITED for so long and then add more weeks to our process is SO ANNOYING.

SS Card is something most people obtain on arrival, within a week or 10 days. So often not an issue.

What did you bring with you to SSA office? Also, how much more time it will take them to process SSN?

Thanks!

I went in literally the day after I got to the US. Got my SSN in the mail a couple weeks later.

The receipt they give you also serves as proof of identity/residency if you want to try to get a drivers license at the DMV.
