Hi everybody, just a quick question.

what is the „Timeline“ (I know it’s Hard to say) but what are your experiences from the time they received your response for additional Information for expediting until you see another change in the process?

May 26th: I called USCIS to expedite I-765

May 27th: Got email for more Information

I faxed them evidence on the same day

May 28th: Case update: Repsonse for additional Information was received.

Usually it takes about less than a week for them to respond if they can approve or deny your expedite request.

What was your reason for requesting the expedite? Are you an essential worker? Most people without biometrics have gotten their expedite request denied (including me). Keep us updated!

Hi! Does anyone know if we are allowed to do walk-in for biometrics at this point when the field offices reopen tomorrow? My expedite was denied yesterday after not hearing from them since end of April. I wasn't even sure if they got my evidence in the first place (faxed it to them early May)...but alas, I haven't done biometrics yet so I was just trying my luck. I guess I will try again this time if I can complete biometrics soon...

I don't have any good news for you:

*The application support centers (where biometrics are done) do not open tomorrow. From the USCIS website:
"Beginning June 4, 2020, certain USCIS field offices and asylum offices will resume non-emergency face-to-face services to the public. Application support centers will resume services later."

*When the application support centers do open, you will not be able to do walk-in for biometrics. Also from the USCIS website:
"
Individuals who appear at a date or time other than what is listed on the ASC appointment notice may encounter significant processing delays, except for military members."

I know this is a frustrating situation - I'm in the exact same situation! :(

How long does it take SSA to send SS# once we receive the EAD card in mail?

I tried calling the SSA office and they say that in person services are temporarily suspended.

If you have a job offer call in and tell them. They will set up an appointment for you. That’s what I did got my SSN 1 week later

I expedited my request two weeks ago and last week it said "Case was approved".

But now it's been more than a week and there's no update. Shouldn't there be a "new card is ordered" or "new card is mailed to you" update after case approval? Has anyone ever been in this situation? No update after getting approved? How long did it take you to get your card after approval?

Thanks so much! Good luck to everyone!

I’m in the same position (although it’s been stuck on “Case was approved” for 3 days with no previous card production update).  Did you ever hear anything further?

(This was an expedite.)

Here's my timeline:

8th June: Requested Expedite for I-765 (Combo Card) via Ask Emma.

(Reason: I'm a professor whose work authorisation expires in July; was supposed to be "off" for the Summer, but I am doing a training course at my university from June to July because of transitioning to online for the Autumn term.  Risk of job loss.  Some pressure from employer already given that they're trying to schedule classes, and I teach a fairly specialised class for STEM majors.)

8th June: Received email to fax supporting documentation.

8th June: Faxed Cover Letter detailing the above / Job Renewal Letter (I'm on a year-to-year contract) / Included email from USCIS.  (Used TurboFax on my iPhone; same people who made TurboScan.)

8th June: (Assigned / Sent a Response / Request Completed - three generic updates on egov case tracker).

9th June: "We approved your request for expedite processing"

10th June: "Case was approved" (I-765)(I-131)

13th June: Received physical letter NOAs for the I-765 Combo Card and (oddly) the I-131 separately.

Note that my case did not go to "Card was ordered" / "Card sent for production" / or "New card is being produced" before "Case was approved".  Nor has it since.  There have been some incidental reports around here of problems if those updates don't show on the case tracker (and there are historic examples from the past few years of similar situations).  I spoke to a Tier-2 officer yesterday to ask about this, and he assured me I'd get the card within a couple of weeks, and that he'd heard of no problems at NBC re: card production, but also noted that my card hadn't been sent to production.  I'm aware of the 48-hour hold / 96-hour "production standard": https://www.aila.org/File/DownloadEmbeddedFile/75234 (Also aware that we're in a pandemic.)

A few other things to note: I did not do biometrics, but, when I asked USCIS about this they told me they'd reused biometrics.  Not sure from where (although I've been here for 10 years).

Will do some more digging next week if I don't hear anything further about card production.  I'm tracking several cases of general I-765 approvals from May that have not been sent to production (at least according to the case tracker), as well as a specific expedite case approval from a day after mine.

Hi Guys,

I am following this thread for quite some time and love the way everyone is so helpful for each other. I was laid off from my job during this pandemic and can’t afford to sit home so I recently i was offered a job by a reputing firm and my ead was also expired in March. I am going to get it expedite so I don’t let this job go and i need someone’s assistance in this group to write a cover letter to expedite my application baded on financial hardships. I would appreciate your support in this regards.

Well the meat of a letter would be your personal financial hardships.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
