Hello everybody!

My fiance just scheduled his interview in Johannesburg, South Africa for March 20, so we're hurrying to make sure we have all of the required documents/proof in order!
Those of you who have already attended an interview and gotten accepted for the visa, what did you use as proof of your relationship? We sent a LOT of proof with our I-129F, so I'm not sure what more I need to bring. (I'll be attending with him, so instead of mailing things I will be bringing them with me). I'm thinking:

 - Multiple photos of us. From the last time we saw one another, the first time we met, everything in between, engagement, and photos taken of us skyping, etc.

 - Skype/Facetime chat logs (There's a LOT)

 - Gifts/Packages/Mail we've sent to one another while apart

 - Social Media posts/comments shared (I'm not sure if this would even be considered as proof of a relationship)

 - what else would we need?

You attending can say alot.

Chat logs, any photos from trips made during the I-129f petition processing.

They want to see how has the relationship continued during the petition processing, they want to see consistency.

Each embassy naturally does vary; but think that's a pretty common thing.

Thank you for the quick reply! We weren't able to visit one another during the process, but we talked for HOURS everyday, so that should be ok!

I'll make sure to include lots of chat logs! I think it'll be good to show conversations of us talking about our future together. Kids, our wedding, etc!

They don’t care about social media stuff. No one does.

That is no longer the case. Social media may already be a factor for some applicants.

@amaraimee  Hello!  We are scheduled for an interview in Joburg on 20 March as well, I will not be there with my fiancé, but she will be there with her 2 boys!  Her's is at 1300.    Exciting but nervous.  I'm in your same boat, but we will be also bringing more pictures that we not in original package and since we've submitted our package, since I've been there once since and she's been to Seattle Washington to see me a few times since we submitted the package.  We have some print outs of our call logs, Skype log and letters and emails, what's up conversations are far too long and I don't know how to print those except screen shots and there is no way for that, way too many.  Make sure the police records are not older than 6 months.  I say records in case your fiancé lived in another country after the age of 16, you'll need a police record from there as well.   Takes anywhere from 2-6 weeks to get. Original copies of birth certificate, divorce decree from last spouse if previously married, or death decree if last spouse is passed on, and any document that shows custody of children, if not in divorce decree, if you have children.  Your petitioner, will need to have given you the I-134 Aff. of support, last 3 years of tax records, last 3 months of pay stubs, employment verification letter and if a US veteran getting VA disability, then a letter showing that.  This is to help in the income support.    Current visa/passport, passport photos, not older than 6 months.  And the confirmation page from your DS-160 visa application, to show you paid it.

Not sure you needed all the above information, but thought I'd share.  Good luck and you'll see my fiancé and her boys I bet!!

Glad you asked, sorry i left that out.  No according to all my emails from the Consulate, he will not need a new one if he has not been there since he received the police report.  My fiancé fell into that with Austria, so i wanted to ask.  But make sure he has a current SA police report.  You will see her i'm sure, tall hottie with 2 boys :). Good luck!!!  Nerves are creeping up!!

Thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to the Embassy/Consulate forum -- topic involves that phase.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
