Hello! Would you mind sharing that number? I think we may be having the same issue with the address. They received ours on 9th of April and we have not heard a thing. But I cannot get through with any numbers we have found.

Hey there! Same date that ours arrived, maybe they could still squeeze you in for June! The number is 011 290 3500. Apparently they only answer calls before 12pm. Also make sure you have your case number on hand. Good luck! :)

Hi! How did your interview go? Is there anything in this list they didn't ask for?? My interview is this Thursday.

Hi there, my visa was approved and an actually leaving for the US on Monday. they took pretty much everything except the medical brown envelope and vaccination sheet I recieved at the medical . But like the above post stated , they probably won’t need or look at everything, but it’s just best to go over prepared and overwhelm them with as much evidence as you can lol. Good luck with your interview!!! 🍀👍🏻

When handing in the evidence she just scanned through everything . Didn’t really sit there and read through chats or anything like that. All she asked for was proof of relationship. The officer that conducted the interview probably looked at them before the interview , I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️ To be honest . But I’d advise you to hand in photos and Chats. Is there something you worried about with regards to your photos and chats ?

Update for anyone who saw my previous posts about the I-129F's four month deadline that I was freaking out about: I emailed the Johannesburg Consulate and got a response that they extended the deadline four months! For anyone else in this boat, I would highly recommend emailing, it really wasn't too hard. My fiancee tried calling multiple times and only got a hold of people who had no clue what she was talking about, and I tried calling and got a "number does not exist" response. Whereas once I emailed, my fiancee got the response several hours later, nice and simple.

FINALLY!

We have our appointment booked and confirmed for May 30th.  We have our medical Booked and confirmed for May 27th.  Have booked an apartment literally next door to the consulate.

Fingers crossed for a quick return of the passport after interview and a record speed in and out.

So happy the time has finally come - no one; myself, my wife, my daughter in mozambique - can sleep due to excitement

Really looking forward to getting to see all my Mozambican family again too! its been years!

Glad to see u are finally to thus point!

Congratulations and safe journey!

Can you share how long it took to have visa in hand after your interview? I’m trying to ‘predict’ when my son in law to be will get his, after his interview (assuming approved) May 30.

I also want to encourage everyone to start following the AOS forum on VJ. There’s been some recent unfortunate posts for 2 different reasons:

1. A K-1 spouse from the UK spent 5 weeks in jail for failing to file the I-495 in 90 days. She was in a car accident and presented her expired I-94 in her passport. Since she was out of status she was arrested.

Tip on that: marry, file AOS paperwork well before the 90 days so the average 10 day NOA1 response is received, carry NOA1 receipt number, passport and even marriage certificate when in public.

2. A K-1 spouse from SA missed her AOS interview and received a deportation letter because the letter with the interview date was mailed to the prior address, so never received. The solution to this is much more complicated. Many people complain that moving during immigration presents challenges in receiving mail from UCSIS.

Suggestions are a PO Box with a real street address if you move so mail does not need to forwarded, informed delivery, updating address online and prayer I guess.

Good luck to everyone and pay attention for the next phase!

We had our interview this morning and were approved! Super quick for the handing over of documents and the interview, but spent about two hours just waiting around to be called to the window. Overall, super happy with everything and we can start planning the next steps!!
