Hey there! Jumping on the bandwagon here. Our case was received by the U.S embassy in JHB on the 9th of April (the site said "READY"), this morning after emails not replied to, I found another number for the embassy on this forum (THANK YOU!) and guess what!? They had emailed Packet 3 to the wrong email address on April 17th already. After thinking there was something wrong with our case, I finally received Packet 3 today and have booked my interview for June 20th! HAPPY DAYS!

Just wanted to add, this forum has come in super handy, and I'm so happy for all those that have been approved! You guys have given me constant hope that the wait is almost over!

Also had to call the Jhb consulate to get them to email the instructions etc., took about 2 days (getting through on the phone was very quick though). Best of luck to you guys - my interview is a week before yours, June 13th! Cheers 🙏🤙

Thanks! Yeah, police clearance took about 2 weeks (got it 5 weeks later, but it actually took 2 weeks) and birth certificate about 2 1/2 weeks (both Pretoria) - maybe we got lucky. 🙏 I'd advise going in to the police station - my police clearance had been sitting with them for about 3 weeks but they never let me know (you're supposed to receive a text when it's ready). 👍

Has anyone already in the US applied for advanced parole and how long did it take to get it?

Not yet, but I see that it's part of my Rapid Visa service when I move forward with the Adjustment of Status. I've read some folks saying it takes a couple months, but not sure.

Frustrated but making progress

Emailed the consulate - no response

Called the Consulate Monday morning - She took the case number, email address and then goes "Oh yes looks like your case was just entered into the system, you will receive an email shortly..."

email literally enters  that moment -  She states that as it is an expedited case she has a date on May 30th, would I like it - which i confirm yes.   She indicates to follow the instructions in the email, again, which I did.  My account on the consulate page says I dont yet have an interview scheduled yet and there are none available.

Woke up early this morning and called for two hours and no answer....

so close...

WHY DOES NO ONE ANSWER THE PHONE AT THE CONSULATE - Its enough to drive you mad - I wonder how many mornings I will wake up at 3am to call until 6am only to have no one pick the phone up the entire time

I would try try again today. Yesterday was a public holiday and no one would have been at the consulate. Whenever I’ve called it’s always been answered. I usually tried as soon as they opened in the morning to try get in first thing.
