Hi, does anyone have an idea how long it takes to get your green card after getting married?

The research that I have done said that on average it is 8 months. As we all know from being on this forum, that can vary. 😀  Also, I told Shaun that a couple people from here interviewed on the same day as him and he said that he remembers your name being called. I should have told him ahead of time so he could have said hello.😀

It is absolutely insane how long this whole process takes. I saw that it takes 150 days just to get employment authorization!!

I think we were all a bit nervous and distracted on the 25th.... the whole day felt like a big blur to me.

Have you checked your status yet? Mine was on issued since yesterday 😃 so hoping to get that visa soon!

Received a message from DHL, my visa will be delivered by 12:00 on Thursday 😃

Wow! So quickly! I just checked and ours is “Issued “ also, so hopefully will get a message from DHL soon too.

Yes, the whole Adjustment of Status process is going to take just as long as this one. But the good news is that the waiting is together!

I have started filling out the forms because a lot of the information is the same as the I-129f and the Affidavit of Support. Names, address history, work history, etc.

Hey there! Jumping on the bandwagon here. Our case was received by the U.S embassy in JHB on the 9th of April (the site said "READY"), this morning after emails not replied to, I found another number for the embassy on this forum (THANK YOU!) and guess what!? They had emailed Packet 3 to the wrong email address on April 17th already. After thinking there was something wrong with our case, I finally received Packet 3 today and have booked my interview for June 20th! HAPPY DAYS!

Just wanted to add, this forum has come in super handy, and I'm so happy for all those that have been approved! You guys have given me constant hope that the wait is almost over!

In your interview in JHB, did you take both you and your petitioner's divorce and marriage certificate with? Originals or copies? Was there anything else they required not on the list?

My kids may follow to join - do I need to provide any details on that process?

Original divorce decrees and copies, I would assume original marriage certificate and copies as well. They specifically ask for divorce decrees.
