My fiance is going to do the same, rather be safe than sorry, I saw a few people meet the minimum required financial support and still get denied as they didn't have any tangible assets, like a car, house etc.. you don't want to come this far and have any issues, I mailed the consulate in JHB and they are cool with joint sponsors as apparently not all embassies are ok with that, I do speak under correction, I have just done a lot of reading regarding this topic specifically

I am so nervous that time is coming I hope everything goes right. We made a tiny error in 129f we put my fiancées adoptive mother name instead of his biological mother but we are bringing all the documents needed for proof. His biological mothers death certificate and his adoptive paperwork. She died when he was 3 months old so his adoptive mother is all he knew

Did those of you with interviews in Johannasburg get a call from the consulate confirming the interview date?

We missed a call from the consulate and were left no message, and tried calling back to only get automated info line.  Is it normal to call and confirm or should we be more persistent with reaching back to them?

How did your interview go? Was it yesterday?

Hi all please tell me if I’m missing anything. My interview is next week on the 4th. So here’s what I have:

unabridged birth cert, clearance, 6 passport photos, death cert of mother, adoption papers ( because I put my adoptive mother on my ds160 and 129f) death cert of adoptive mother, letter from the court supporting my adoption, fiancée birth cert, 134 affidavit, pay slips (as many as we could find) only one W2 because she started her job right out of college of December 2017, employment letter, letter from bank, letter of intent, photos, WhatsApp messages, boarding tickets of our trip together to Thailand, invoice of engagement ring, explanation of meeting and a thank you letter. Do I need anything else?

Good luck with your interview! You must be excited! Please let us know how it goes!

So my interview is on Thursday my fiancé applied for his police clearance in August received it October 10th. It is valid until April 10th and our interview is on the 4th. So me being very worrisome I asked him to apply for another one since after his interview a week later it would expire. He applied in January he just went to the police station only for them to tell him that they didn’t put his application through until March 19th because of load shedding. I don’t know what to do I’m so worried it will be a problem because it’s only valid for one more week

Hello all, would you recommend getting vaccines done before your medical? or at the medical exam?

I recommend doing only what they tell you at the medical.  You can waste money doing them ahead of time.

As long as it’s valid for the date of your interview you will be fine.

It varies.

My interview was on feb 7, Issued happened on he 14th, got my visa the 28th.

People who interviewed on the 14th got their visas the same day as me (I assume their issued was 1 week after the interview).

It seemed like they did a big batch shipment at the end of the month but I have really no idea what happened or if thats standard practice.

Just received the tracking number.  Can’t believe how blessed and lucky we are.  Our interview was this past Thursday and now it looks like we will have the visa in hand by Thursday this week.  So exciting to see the end of being apart.
