I just got our timeline updated but we got our "Ready" status on March 5 and was able to book an interview date for April 25.  We are very relieved to finally have a little more of a concrete timeline.  Shaun applied for his unabridged birth certificate, South African police clearance and his Korean police clearance a few weeks ago.  His Korean pc is ready to be picked up and we paid to have his unabridged bc expedited so everything should be ready in time.  Now we are just finishing up the items requested in Packet 3 and waiting!

Good luck the rest of the way....

Hi everyone. My case status is Ready, but Im waiting for the letter from the SA consulate in JHB.. I would like to book my interview date in the meantime. How do I do this - Im a bit confused as the letter from NVC calls it an immigrant visa, (page that says Ready), but a K1 is a nonimmigrant visa, so which site do I go to to book my interview in South Africa??

Good luck!!!  I would love to be there for the interview but we just don't feel like it is the best use of our funds right now.  I will be rooting for both Shaun and you from afar!

Yes, I will also be attending on my own. I truly hope that this is finally the last wait for both of us! You were lucky to get an appointment so soon! I think there might have been a cancellation because someone else tried booking on the same day I did and it was already filled up. Good luck to you guys sorting out the last of your paperwork!

I was really surprised to get that appointment too, based on everything else we had been seeing here. So, a cancellation makes sense.

No :( we have not received anything from NVC since the case complete email (documentairily qualified) on 2/15 - you would think with also being the jozy consulate for interview, we would have by now, especially if you did and you received CC two weeks after we did...

I am tired of waiting - just give us some news already!

When you got the email saying case complete did you get anything else before the interview email?  Did they give you the interview date, or do you have to schedule?  when are you scheduled for / available dates?   sorry for so many question but I feel like it will be June by the time I can go get my daughter

Hi! Any update yet on your visa? What is your current status on CEAC website?

 Hello!

Anyone else having issues with booking interview appointments at the consulate in Johannesburg?

It says there are no appointments available and has said so for the past week!

Calling the consulate and emailing doesn't exactly provide many answers especially as it seems I'm going around in circles driving myself mad haha.

Hi everyone, I have a question that's been concerning me a little:

as far as i'm aware the I-134 Affidavit of support says if your spouse lives alone, in order to support the beneficiary they need to earn more than 16500 US correct? now my question is, she earns more than that but not up to 125% that amount, will that alone suffice, or should we use her savings which is approx half the annual amount of minimum income as well on the I-134 Affidavit? if not, would we need to sign a co-sponsor to hit above that 125% mark? if i could get some clarity on this I would greatly appreciate.

Have a great evening all, thanks!
