My CEAC website says "Case Last Updated 08-Feb-2019". Previously it said 07-Feb-2019. So I dont really know what that means but i guess its good?

Shes still waiting to get the visa... Theyre gonna make us sweat it out until the very end!! 🤣

I think so! Ours is still saying 7 Feb, but I'll be checking it pretty frequently today.

Hey! If you don't mind, complete the rest of your timeline so it'll help future applicants. I know many people look at timelines to help them get an estimate of what their timeline might look like. :)

So now it is Tuesday and still no visa. My fiance called the consulate and they told her that it was "still in processing and no shipping # had been generated". She then told the person on the phone that she was told 1-2 business days at the interview and the person replied that "it's 7-10 business days for processing after your interview. After it's processed, it will be 1-2 business days until you receive it"....

I'm pretty upset about this, but after seeing everyone on here saying 7-10 business days, I'm not really all that surprised I guess. I am going to wait until tomorrow and if there still isn't any tracking # im gonna cancel my flight and just book one when we finally do get the visa. Super frustrating to say the least 😡

Did she directly call the consulate? I always end up at a "call center" that tells me they can only point me in the direction to find the information but can't give me direct information to the consulate.

If we don't hear anything tomorrow I want to call them because if it takes the full 12 business days my finance will over stay his SA visa. Mozambicans only get a month stamp in their passport and we've already been here 3 weeks since our medical appt. was so far ahead of our interview.

That's tough - I remember someone posting on here who was from, Namibia maybe? Another country which has to use JNB for interviews - and they posted that they told the interviewer of their situation and they were able to somehow "expedite" getting the passport back to them in 2 days.

not sure how you could try to convey to the embassy your similar situation.

If anyone is curious, apparently the CEAC website does update after you have your interview. Mine has now changed from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing". So back to constantly refreshing this as I wait for it to change to "shipped" (or whatever the next step will say).

I called today this number and the number they finally put on the JNB U.S. Consulate page. Tiny rant, I hate the call center. They say they aren't able to provide any information except the "easy answers" and can only point you where to find further information. However, when I called them a few months ago about getting the wrong DS160 information they said they couldn't help yet I got an updated email less than 5 minutes later when the correct information.

Anyways, all that to say they told us to send an email. So the email was sent early this morning and we have yet to get a reply. Our CEAC still hasn't switch to AP, so I'm getting nervous about overstaying our SA Visa. We were hoping to be back in Moz today, now we are just hoping to be there by Saturday. Let's see.

I didn't even think of this being a problem. So warning for all the future people if you are one of those from Lesotho, Mozambique, etc. be mindful of how long you are allowed to stay in SA through this process.

Update: Today (14 Feb), the CEAC website says "Application Received" as the status and was updated to this today.

I also noticed the "Case created" date shifted to the 14th, so this is probably another department that is handling my case now. Furthermore it also says:

"If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application."

It seems like it's nearing the end and will be approved if God wills in 2 business days.
