Hello!

My fiance applied for his police clearance in the beginning of December and still hasn't received it back. Is anyone else having to wait such a long time for one of these?

Mine took about a month from submission

So someone at NVC just told me they think the birth certificate keeps being rejected because I am not submitting a South African birth certificate for my Mozambican Step Daughter !?!?!?!?!  When I pointed out the absurdity of that they informed me the case is missing the "Birth Entry Number" which is needed to proceed.   I asked her to open the document with me in which we both saw and recognized in bold letters along the top the equivalent of the Birth Entry Number.

The case has been forwarded to a supervisor to figure out why the birth certificate went from Accepted to Rejected and what is actually needed.  At this rate our interview will be in August or worse

I'm hoping this gets resolved for you soon! We have his birth certificate ready and translated for our interview next week. I'm hoping we don't have any problems with it! I can see how someone not from Mozambique could question their birth certificates as they are hand written and do not look as official as some other countries. But they are!

Hey all! It's been awhile since I've popped in. We are in Pretoria now. We went in on Friday for my fiancé's first medical appointment and we will go again tomorrow. The medical appointment thus far wasn't too bad however we were caught off guard when we had to go to another location for the X-Ray and urine test. We were happy that someone let us barrow a car.

We essential have everything for our packet of info just need to do our double checks and put it in a logical order. Feb. 7 will be here before we know it. Who else will be joining that day? I know @JS5220 will be there.

SO envious!  Do fill in more about needing to travel to get an xray?  How far / where do you have to go?   I think there is Lift / Uber in that area, correct?

Yeah. He's going to call again tomorrow. We had to get an unabridged for our little one and it took and insane amount of time. Just getting nervous for the police clearance because if we needed to apply again it would be past the date for our medical and interview.

It's not too far away. Maybe a 10 minute drive to Morningside Mediclinic. There is Uber in the area so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. When you get there you go down stairs to X-Ray, but once you arrive they send you back upstairs for the urine test.

Yesterday we drove by the embassy on our way home so we found out where to park so we don't have to walk around aimlessly trying to find our way around.

GAH!  The "Supervisor" just sent me this response.   The marriage certificate has been accepted!  What are they talking about?   When I emailed them they said a finacial document was wrong, but it is also marked as accepted!?!?

I really don't know what to do at this point?   How do I hold their hand and show them I have the correct document?  Is there something wrong making them thing the documents should be from SA and not MOZ or are they just being lazy and not taking the time to investigate?

Dear Sir/Madam:

The Customer Assistance Team at National Visa Center is trying to complete the processing of your case. We have noted that we are still missing the following:

·         Principal Applicant’s Birth Certificate (The document we received is not acceptable for immigration purposes.  We need the Birth Certificate (Certidao Narrativa Completa de Nascimento) issued by Conservatoria dos Registos of city of birth. There may be a fee for this service.)

·         Principal Applicant’s Marriage Certificate (The Marriage Certificate (Certidao Narrativa Completa de Casamento) is issued by Conservatoria dos Registos Civis of city of marriage. This certificate is applicable to any civil marriage performed in the country. There may be a fee for this service.)

Please obtain and upload scanned copies of these documents to avoid processing delays with your visa petition. For information regarding the document you need to submit please go to http://travel.state.gov/documents.

I think you need a supervisor. Someone is not understanding these documents.

Does anyone know whether the NVC only dispatches documents to the JHB embassy on a certain day?

Last I remember, someone on visa journey said packages are dispatched on the middle Tuesday and Wednesday of the month, and the last Tuesday and Wednesday of the month.
