I had no idea. So grateful you mentioned this. Thankfully he is traveling this week to his city of birth, so we can get this. What version did your spouse have in her original interview? Please keep me updated.

I would suggest going early to get in line. Every time I or he has been, there is a line out the door. Assuming you're in Maputo? Correct?

Have you been able to schedule your interview yet?

My step daughter is in Chimoio - I am currently in the US.  My wife ran into the same thing but I think the attorney when going through the documents asked us specifically - "Is this the "Narativa completa de nascimento" which she realized it wasnt it was the cedula.

No interview yet with the rejection on the birth certificate and request for police clearance

For anyone curious, my fiance was going to call the consulate about the K1 visas, but said all they showed on the website for K1 was an email. So she emailed them and got this in response today:

Dear Applicant,

If the calendar does not permit you to select a date, there are no available appointments for the selected visa category at the chosen Embassy/Consulate.

Certain visa categories are very popular and the available slots fill rapidly. As the amount of appointments made available are at the sole discretion of the Embassy the only suggestion we can provide is to keep checking periodically to see if more dates have been released.

Thank you,

The Contact Desk Support Team

Yeah that really doesn't give me a lot of confidence and if anything makes me more worried 😟

Anyway we'll keep checking and get them once it happens eventually.

Thanks for updating us. I am really curious to know how far they are booked out. Knowing that information would help me...but also probably frustrate me.

Also, small rant at embassy. If they fill rapidly..create more avaliability? Common sense? End rant.

It isnt what anyone in this thread wants to hear but - Ill be interested to see if IR-2 is grouped with IR-1 and in general if that is also very full.    Seems K visas are more popular, is that a misstatement?

Hello everyone!

We are waiting for the NVC to mail out our paperwork. We've got almost all of the needed paperwork for the interview (at least I think we do, I've read and re-read the list about 82792 times lol). Has anyone had any luck getting an interview date? Are they really as far out as I've seen on some older timelines? Should we be expecting about 2 months out from when you're able to get an appointment?

Also, is anyone else also doing a K2 along with their K1?

Good luck to everyone!!

Hi all

I am currently in "In Transit" status from NVC. I have applied for my Unabridged Birth Certificate 4 months ago and have been calling them every second day now, but have yet to receive my Unabridged.

How long did yours take? Anything I can do to speed up the situation? I am worried I'll have to postpone the interview date if the certificate doesn't arrive in time.

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you so much.

I emailed the consulate with regards to interview dates and my main question was WHEN can we expect new dates to be released. I raised the concern that my NOA2 is due for expiry in February...

I hope that email magically makes a difference for us to atleast KNOW when to expect dates because hoping and checking everyday is more torturous and with that method, i stand higher chances of getting a heart attack the DAY those interview dates appear because they have been so non existent.

We did CR-1 and they were K-1 being interviewed next to us. So I believe that they are all grouped together.

The only other thing is to pay a company to get your Birth Certificate for you. The various companies can you usually secure one pretty fast. Are you close to a Home Affairs? Sometimes if you go down there and speak with someone you have better luck then on the phone.

Thanks for this. Do you know any of the companies that are fast? I have been talking to a few today, but if you have recommendations that would be cool.

I'll try go down to Home Affairs sometime this week.

Shame! I hope they get some open soon! HOORAY7 has a similar timeline to ours, except ours is 2018 not 2017. I believe I saw another timeline or two similar as well, but I cannot remember their names.

This morning I woke up to a SMS that the birth certificate is ready, so happy haha. Thanks for your help.

For anyone who may read this and is still waiting for theirs: I contacted all the companies who can help with Birth Certificates, and the most helpful ones were Q-Line. They said they would be able to probably get it to me in 2 weeks (before Christmas). Bunnyhop said they don't process applications that have already started like mine, and Docassist closes on Friday and said I'll have to call them again in the new year.
