I’m excited to report my fiancé got approved at his interview last Thursday!

His interview was, in his words, easy. They asked when he’d last seen me, how we met, and a few other straightforward questions and otherwise just made sure that every piece of paperwork was there.

He was apparently one of two K-1 interviews that day and the other guy also got approved.

We got our IR-2 Case Received by NVC email about 2 weeks ago.  Paid the fees within 10 minutes, three days later they were processed, two days later the DS-260 and 864-EZ filled and submitted along with "Civil Documents" - now just checking daily to see they get processed.   I am guessing based on this timeline we will have an interview in January - think this sounds reasonable?

Getting REALLY excited to

1. Go to Mozambique and see the family - it has been almost 4 years.

2. See my step daughter and bring her on an adventure of many firsts (airplane, leaving the country, etc.)

3. Travel, cause I love to travel

4. hear them say the case is approved!

5. See the look on her face when she leaves the airplane in the middle of January in Boston....lol  she says she is excited to see the snow - we will see

I'm not sure how the IR-2 process works, but I would think January sounds reasonable. While I really would love a December interview, I'm guessing I'll get a January interview.

Hope you enjoy your time here in Mozambique! This weekend it is suppose to be up near 40C.

Really do hope we get December dates available . It would be a nightmare to wait until January because that's just extreme after being approved end of October

I do beg your pardon , however this is a K1 visa South African group, your query is confusing and not applicable to this group.

Does the South African Embassy accept scanned copies of the Affidavit of Support documents? Or do they require a wet signature.

It is best to have a wet signature, my affidavit of support was wet a signature. That is what was recommended to me by my attorney.

Yes you are correct.  Standalone IR-2 visas are not very common.  CR1 is also not nearly as common as K1, as such current active discussions about less popular consulates such as johannesburg are not easily found.  Many basic concepts of NVC to Consulate to interview are the same.  I had hoped to gain some information from this group, but you are correct - it is incorrectly placed.  I’ll not post here again.
