Can anyone help us with the next steps for proceeding k1?

We got NOA2 - Aug28

NVC Case Received - Sept 14, NVC Case Number Sep 17 and we also got the invoice number but we don't know what to do with that. We are filing at Johannesburg Consulate. Does anyone have the Packet 3 information for Johannesburg Consulate?

Best advice fill out DS160 form, wait for embassy package 3, register on visa for K1 site, schedule appointment and pay visa online. Schedule medical.

You can track your case with case number on site

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

When it says document ready it means it has been send off to embassy

Thanks for the info. Is it possible to fill out the DS160 form before any communication from the embassy? If so, can you please share the link. The process mention in the NVC website ( https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved.html) mention lot of steps, but is it applicable to K1. And good luck with your interview.

I wish I could help you there but we did not do our K1 admin, we had a INS lawyer. But we had to track our case ourselves and book our own K1 appointment. Not sure what is the link to the DS160 form. Maybe google DS160 and follow a link on the internet? And yes, you can fill out the DS160 before package 3. But it will not allow you to schedule interview before confirmation from embassy. There is a security question you have to tick off asking you if you received your Embassy package 3. Rather wait till after embassy email.

Thank you in andvance for wishing us goodluck.

Congrats! The next steps are simple and easy,

the ds160 link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/forms/ds-160-online-nonimmigrant-visa-application.html

After about 10 working days if you haven’t heard anything from the consulate via email then you can call them on this number: 011 290 3500

This link is also very helpful: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=South Africa&cty=Johannesburg

They will email you packet 3 and there will be a list of information that needs to be prepared for the interview. Also they will ask you to email them back a copy of your fiancée passport and the conformation page of the ds-160. Once you have all the documentation you can set your interview date and medical

Hope this helps 🌼

Good luck and wish you all the best on the rest of your journey🌼

Thanks for the link. Should we proceed to pay the fees here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved.html , it says it only accept US bank accounts and take one week to process.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to join in on this thread and say hello. My I-29F was received April 13th, so am still in the waiting game to get my NAO2.

Do have a question. My husband is Mozambican and I am American. He speaks and understands English, but not strongly. Will this be a problem for the interview? We have no option but to go to South Africa as they don't process K1's in Mozambique.

The embassy will contact you on how to go about the 3 things you asked about once they get the files from NVC. Congratulations.

It's hilarious really. Yes he did some resistance excersises too. I think the bloodworks and xrays were the big ones that they cash in. Luckily I did not need any injections.

Well guys, 5 days to go 🙂

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers Thursday the 27th.
