You got the NVC number ? Maybe you should ring the Sandton office. I know Wouter also waited a long time for package 3 and he called. After 5 min after he called  they send him the package 3. Some embassies can be slacky.

I called them and they told me i can only talk to the immigrations via email which i was given, after 6 hours of emailing them i got the following email, this site will not let me upload it, it says it is above 200kb. What do you think? I think i will have to wait, they have received it from 17th May

"Dear Mr XXXXX,

Thank you for your email.

Please be advised that you will be contacted with the relevant information once we are ready to proceed.  Kindly allow for our internal processes to run their natural course.

Best advice is to call and ask for a second opinion. If NVC already send your package the documents should be at the Sandton office. Give it till Monday and try calling again. I would if it were me. It's urgent for you to get the package 3 otherwise you cannot book the interview or medical.

But I don’t know why they keep telling me that the immigrant department only contact through email? I called NVC and they said i should give the embassy 7 working days. It’s currently 5 working days I’ll wait till Monday.

Hi everyone,

I have literally just mailed the petition for my fiance in SA. It states they are to receive it on the 30th of May. I have been reviewing a lot of stories and some the wait was shorter for others. I have a lot of questions regarding what he may or may not need. So far I have noticed the affidavit of support, police report and unabridged birth certificate.

Does he also need the letter of our intent to marry? When should we request the police report? Also he is originally from Nigeria but has been in South Africa for 8 years. How would that work?

Yes letter of intent explaining how you met and that you will marry after 90 days

Police clearance from SA to proof there's no criminal record or no convictions (valid for 6 months in SA) I applied for mine  a month ago after 4 months into the process - the process takes a bit longer now so you have to be careful when you apply.

Unabridged birth certificate very important

Letter of no impediment (stating that you are single not married - not always necessary but I applied for one just in case)

The rest : proof of relationship, proof that you have met with photos and documents from petitioner

Thank you! Another question, does he also need police certificates from Nigeria as well?
