Hi fellow SA and US couples! My fiance and I had our i129F approved November 19th and are awaiting news from NVC. I had a few questions I hope someone here will be able to help us.

1. After I get my case number from them will my fiance be able to book his interview? (We already have police clearance and UBC)

2. Does anyone know how long it's taking to get an interview date at the moment?

I'm here in SA with him and our 11month baby girl, my 90 days ends March 1st so I'm hoping I can be with him for the interview and fly to the US together!

congrats! Once you get your case number you will log onto the website to see if there are any available dates... Dont be surprised if the dates are well into the future... My husband and I received our case number in November they didnt release interview dates until December and the closet date was Feb.... Not sure of the pattern now maybe someone who has recently gone through that step will have more up to date info...... this was a year ago for us..... Good luck on the rest of your journey

Hello Everyone!!!

I hope that all his well with you guys.  I have a question, I don't know if any of you encountered the same problem. We applied for our police report from Cape Town on the 15th of november and up to now we didn't received it yet and my fiancee interview is on this 19th of this month meaning in about 3days. What should we do? proceed with the interview or what should we do?

Go to the interview, they will ask you to provide the Police Clearance when you receive it. Until then, your visa will be in administrative processing.  We had the same issue. Nothing to worry about.

I also had issues with my police clearance. I continuously went to the police station to be turned away and told I will just have to wait another week. I eventually landed up going to Pretoria a few days before to collect it directly from them, luckily I did as on their system my PC had been collected weeks before by the very man at the station who kept turning me away. They were super nice about it and the guys there just printed me a new one.

I really hope this hasn’t happened with your case as getting to Pretoria from CT isn’t exactly a reality!

It depends where in Joburg he's staying. I lived in the northern suburbs so it was only a 30 minute drive.

I would recommend going early if he does, as it tends to be quite busy.

The address is:

CRC Client Service Centre
1st Floor, Room 14
271 Francis Baard Street
PRETORIA

Hi all, just checking in, how long did you wait for your EAD after it was approved? I have my GC interview 15th of Jan but to my surprise my EAD was approved too, just curious as I’d like to renew my Drivers license which has expired (no luck with renewal as I had no paperwork other than I-94)

Thanks

It took almost 10 weeks in total, but the man showed me the date it had been collected and that was 4 weeks from when I first applied. The majority of my time was just spent being turned away

Finally a status change tonight at 8pm “new card is being produced”! It’s been a looooong week! An awesome Christmas present will hopefully arrive in the mail soon. This process has been so tiring and frustrating. Good luck to everyone starting now. It took me 1 and a half years from my first application to Green Card.
