@Mel & Llew Great!! Is it Mel or Llew coming ? Thank you, I've added it in! Happy to have someone else going through the same process there! See one of you then!

Hi Zoe/Mel/Llew

I’m speaking with Mike on my deck in Michigan and he recommends that you bring an umbrella to protect you from the sun/rain while you wait outside for the interview because no cover. And one other recommendation - answer what they ask but no need to over share.

Good luck!

Can anyone remember after their CEAC status was ready when you could book your appointment, or do you have to wait for the P3 from the consulate?

Had the K1 interview yesterday - it was about 2.5 hours from walking in to walking out (most of it is spent waiting to be called to a counter).

After submitting all our documents, I waited and was called to a different counter for the interview. It was actually quite short - about 15 minutes.
The interviewer was friendly, and asked:

- When was the last time you saw your fiance?
- How and when did you meet?
- Tell me your story?
- What are your wedding plans and what are your plans once you've entered the US?
- What kind of job/work are you going to do once you're able to work (Green Card issued)?

She said well done our application looks really good and we had all the documents they required. Congratulations, and she'd approve it later in the day.

Also cancelled my previous tourism visa as the K1 visa replaces it.

Done! Very happy right now 🙏😃

So I received a letter from the NVC saying the documents left on the 11th, but I can't seem to track the whereabouts on the DHL website, whats the usual time frame from shipping out of the NVC to the consulate acknowledging the receipt and sending me packet 3? I'm not too familiar with the process as the JHB consulate website is very vague on the K-1 Process?

Hi Kyle

I’m having a hard time using the DHL tracking as originally recommended in posts by @Greenbaum, but my daughter’s case number was assigned February 5 and accepted by Neo at the consulate in Joburg on Monday,  February 25 (left the NVC Wednesday February 20). Back then I was able to trace the package using DHL tracking on each airplane ride/stop (Boston, Cincinnati, Heathrow, Johannesburg).

We then emailed for packet 3. I’m trying to attach a copy of packet 3. PM if this link is not successful.

Hi all, I got a call from the Consulate yesterday, they asked to confirm my e mail address CEAC status is "ready". Did this happen to anyone else and what do I expect from here on out? not sure if I should, call, mail or just sit tight? Should I expect P3 soon?

Thanks

Well my words weren't cold and they sent me my P3 letter, however do you just have to wait for dates to be made available on the ais.usvisa website?

Hi there! You don’t need a SSN to get married. We applied for our license today. Only a certified copy of your UBC and your passport

Thank you, that takes a lot off stress away! 😁

I had my interview yesterday, we got approved!! I just wanted to find out if the Ceac site changes to Administrative Processing for all K1 visas once approved?

Tip - If you have an upcoming interview in winter, bring warm clothes! We waited in the courtyard and it was rather chilly! Also make sure you have tax transcripts, they don't actually want tax returns, but rather tax transcripts. But bring everything!

Your visa is not approved until the status changes to "Issued"......regardless of what the CO said......but the status could change to administrative processing......good luck.

Hello! Congrats!

What do you mean by tax transcripts? Our attorney told us to gather tax returns. What exactly is a tax transcript? I see on the IRS website there are return transcripts, record of account transcript, account transcript, and wage & income transcript to download.
