Hi, Im new to Visa journey, please bear with me. I'm a U.S. citizen filling for my Honduran husband. Our priority date is August 18, 2016. Our case with nvc was completed on January 23, 2018.

My question is how long is it currently taking for nvc to appoint an appointment at the US embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I really need to know because I want to go to school but can't because we don't know when the appointment may be and how long we would be in Honduras for. It has just been a very long waiting game for us.

Also can the past presidential election in Honduras have any delay or effect on how they fill appointment dates over there?

Priority dates don't apply to CR1 visas. They confuse you by providing that.

My husband came last month, no issues with Trump.

Look at my timeline for more info...

It looks like you are exactly a year after us.  If they remain consistent, think April for the letter for appointment and July/August for visa in hand.  You can wait up to six months to activate it.  My husband waited four due to school.

Any interview date for you? I reed in another post of someone with January case completed got interview for mid July. please share to help get a sense of what is going on. I do not think there is any embassy in the world taking so long to give an interview date. Not even the Mexico's main one.

Super late update. Mainly cause I forgot about this post, sorry. But yes we got our appointment letter on April 6th 2018. We arrived at Honduras on May 3rd 2018. Scheduled medical examination in CEMESA hospital in San Pedro Sula on May 4th 2018. Returned on May 15th 2018, for medical examination. Attended US embassy appointment on May 22nd 2018, in Tegucigalpa. Got his visa approved! Picked visa up at cargo expreso on May 28 2018. We entered the US, on June 6th 2018. He was questioned for a bit at an airport in TX. And received his SSN on June 15th 2018. And finally his green card on our anniversary June 26th 2018.

Wait.. could you please clarify something that is good. You did the medical examination in Cemesa in san pedro sula? Not in tegucigalpa ? And your is a CR or IR visa right? I hope it was not a typo cause doing it in san pedro will be 1000 times better
