Hi,

I am in the UK and my fiancé is based in the USA and we are in the process of gathering all  documents to submit the I 129f and I just realised my middle name is spelt wrong by one letter on my previous marriage certificate. My middle name is Jay and it shows it as Joy. My first and maiden names are spelt correctly.

Do do I need to submit my prior marriage certificate as well as my divorce decree absolut at this point? Or can I just submit my decree absolut? Or, does it not matter really about my middle name as my first and last names are correct? Or should I put it in the field for also known as names?

Just don’t want to confuse or cause an RFE, and wondered if anyone had any advice?

thanks a lot!

Send both with a note that you will be writing to the court requesting they modify your paperwork to reflect your correct name spelling.  They will probably accept this.  Then, you will have the properly spelled one by the time you need it.  Then, contact the issuing court and request the issue another one with the correct name on it.
