Hello everyone. We are going to the Philippines (Cebu) on May 25 to June 30. We are US citizen. I’m naturalized US citizen. My friend said we have to apply for visa extension. If so, where and how ? I don’t know the process. I’m already so stress out because my husband reschedule his flight and it cost a fortune to reschedule his flight :-(. Thank you so much.

Do you still have Philippines citizenship and/or are you a Dual Citizen???? If you still have Dual Citizenship then your asawa can avail himself of the Balikbayan Stamp upon arrival and allow up to a 1 year stay. I did that last time I went to the Philippines and they stamped it upon arrival at NAIA.

If not then you can actually extend it at the Bureau of Immigration in Cebu City, because once you get to the Philippines your asawa will have a initial 30 day stay in the Philippines. But if you want to extend it you can go to the BOI offices at Gaisano Mall and J Centre mall.

Your are former Philippine citizens, you can still avail to the Balikbayan stamp upon arrival.  Simply carry a copy of your birth certificate.  Of course your U.S. passport shows country of birth as Philippines, but to play it safe bring a copy of the BC.  ;)     You are good for 1 year (minus a day) with the BB stamp

Don't need to be a dual to avail to the BB stamp, being a former Philippine citizen is acceptable.        We have gotten the BB stamp with our U.S. passports. and no dual citizenship.

Thank you for your reply. I don’t have a dual citizenship. So we’ll just bring our passports there and get it stamp?

Yes, just go there with your passports and YOUR Birth Certificate. You will then get the stamp.
