We got our I130 approved on 13 Feb 2018 from USCIS Seoul.SKorea we are currently in Thailand which we had stated in the petition and not it has been almost 60 days we have not been contacted is this normal or should I contact USCIS or NVC to check or jus wait

TIA

This is a forum for the K-1 visa not the I-130. Might I suggest you ask in the sub-forum for your country or the CR1 forum here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/110-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-process-amp-procedures/

RANT POST (I'M SORRY)

Disclaimer: I don't mean for any advice. I just wanted to rant somewhere. I'm sorry, I know this is not the place for it. I have discussed it with my partner and I fully understand there is no way around our situation. I just want to let my frustrations off my shoulders somewhere.

Guys, my interview is next Tuesday, on the 24th but I just want to say how unhappy I am with this entire thing. I feel so deeply in my heart that it's one of the worse times to migrate to US, half because I come from a really safe, prosperous and no-nonsense country. America is so alien to me because I feel there is a lot of hate in this country and a lot of debatable situations. Its residents are really open -- full of really friendly people, however in Singapore, we would consider people like this busybodies. Also, in Singapore we live in small flats(think apartment size) and don't need cars to get anywhere.

I very much want to be with my fiancé but I wish that my fiancé could have migrated to Singapore instead as I am so uncomfortable with the idea of being in US. However, we agreed long ago that the most feasible route is for me to migrate (for various reasons I think will be too TMI for me to disclose).

And this extended wait time DOES NOT make it any better. We are all in the same boat - it is taking 2 months longer than the original wait time (as in 4 months, I understand the website says 6, but before our batch, it was always 3 to 4 months from NOA1 to NOA2). And 6+ months wait is for the luckiest of us. In all that extra wait time, US proves to be even more uneasy (for me) to move to. I feel so cornered into a decision I wish I didn't have to make.

I am still going along with the interview and the process for the sake of my fiancé as he spent a lot of money on my migration including a new home and he is also helping me with the transition. I am just still very uncomfortable with it and wish I didn't have to leave Singapore. :crying:

(SORRY AGAIN)

(SORRY AGAIN)

Your feelings are not without notice. Many who migrate are very apprehensive to what they can expect in this "new country". My wife was the same coming from the Philippines. For her it has been very enjoyable and worth the trip. But for her she didn't have much, and for the sake of her kids she made the move but never regretted it. Of course there are good things she likes about America and there are those things that she doesn't. But she doesn't pay much attention to what is happening in the world or in America. She seems to be surrounded by an environment that she likes and can deal with at her level. That's her comfort zone.

If one was to read or watch the news, it sounds like America is on FIRE and everyone hates each other and they hate our President. We live in such a free society that anyone can take advantage of it if they so desire. That's why you see the nonsensical killings that take place.

But having said that there is still those that in your neighborhood who will greet you and befriend you BUT you have to be willing to do the same. Please come here with an open mind and judge for yourself what America can offer you. Your husband will do a fine job of helping you to adjust.

Good luck and safe travels.

Hello everyone. I am scheduled to have my interview on May 8 and I am very nervous.

Now that I'm waiting again, I am back to my usual overthinking self.

I've been reading about Poverty Guidelines. Since they already approved our petition, and we're just waiting for our interview, it won't be an issue anymore right?

My fiance is a veteran and he is getting monthly VA disability compensation. We included this on the I-864 Affidavit Of Support.

He is currently a student. He went back to school to finish his degree.

So aside from his disability compensation, he works as an Uber Eats driver. The salary that one gets from this part time job varies. It actually depends on how much deliveries he makes in a day.

Will this be a problem?

They will look at your family's total income from all sources and compare to the poverty level guidelines. They will also look at his 2016 tax information at lie 22 and use that number in their evaluation. BTW the Embassy uses the I-134 for the evaluation if your ability to earn and not become a ward of the state.

Is anyone here clueless did their cases hit the local embassy yet ?

We are approved on February 22nd and NVC sent us a mail on April 3rd that the case was sent to the local embassy but since then no news.

NVC received our case on March 3rd, case was created March 12 , I did DS-160 on March 15th and said ''Ready'' on March 22nd but I believe that is not possible since it was too quick and why would they, if it says ''Ready'' on March 22nd, send us an email that they sent it out April 3rd ?

Is this normal ?

I would like a response from someone who is going thru this if there is anyone.

Thank you.

Why is it impossible that your case went ready so fast? Your file just might be the electronic version so it could have been ready within hours. You're over thinking this whole process. At this point you should be checking your embassy's website for additional instructions to answer the what is next question. Everything about your case is within normal guidelines. There is nothing different that's happening to you that's not happening to someone else. Yes it's normal.

Same exact thing happened to us. Approved Feb 26, NVC said ready March 22, email from NVC April 3rd. We have been trying to get the packet 3 sent to us ever since it said ready. Still no luck. They had the postal code wrong first. Then they fixed it and my fiancee still hasn't received anything. I have called and emailed and made several cases. They have mailed the packet 3 a total of 4 times now, even emailing me the address they were sending it to to make sure it was correct and it was. We have no idea what's going on and it is so frustrating.

Hey !

I just wanted to inform you that we called NVC and they confirmed that our application was indeed sent on 22nd and not April 3rd, as we both share these days, yours should be the same, too.

Also, I contacted the embassy and they confirmed to me that they sent the letter to me, packet 3, but I did not receive it yet and they resent it, as I might have messed up ZIP Code, too, but I am not sure that I did, its only a possibility,  so I gave them updated address and they resent it, just in case.

Have patience, that is what we need.

For my country it takes 2-3 weeks for it to came from embassy, since we do not have embassy in my country that issues immigrant visas.

We did not even got the packet 3, you at least got it 4 times, so just hasten the gathering of documents and send it asap.

They have sent the packet 3 to her 4 times, but she has not received any of them. Our plan for now is to do everything without it. She will use the NOA2 and interview confirmation email to do medical and get police certificates. If we still can't receive the packet 3 by the time of the interview I guess she will just tell them it never came and tried many times. Hopefully it will still be ok.

I hadn't seen that page exactly there are no K1 instructions there. I used this one, https://jp.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/fiancee-visa-checklist/

The problem we are facing now is I have read that non Japanese citizens (especially filipinas) are required to mail in some documentation as instructed by the packet 3. Usually this is birth certificate, CENOMAR, photo copy of passport. So we are kind of stuck. I'm hoping she can just bring all that stuff to the interview if we never receive the packet 3 and they will accept it. It's really all we can due considering they can't seem to mail it correctly.
