is it possible to check the availability without paying the fee or has to complete the ds-160 then pay then select for the date of interview?

our case still says ''In transit''

DS 160 is pretty much all your biographic info , your fiancés and your passport details. You’d need cgifederal.secure.force.com to schedule the interview and biometrics.Yes,on the left side on the screen it shows the closest available date(just one date) before you pay and schedule(in my case it has given me like March 16 then when I made payment and tried to pick a date then I got June 1 ) but this is for my country I don’t know how it works for your country :DIt varies @dynesyzygy24

I like how people ask for information, you give it to them, and they ignore you because they don't like what you give them.

NVC theories are fun and all, but they're not going to get you that information any faster, no matter how much you speculate. If they're telling you it could be 8 weeks, it could be. Instead of being ugly about it, thank the stars that you've got your case past the USCIS stage. There are lots of people waiting, and I'm SURE they'd love to be at this phase.

“Instead of being ugly about it”, how is talking about what is a more likely reality ugly? Weird, hostile choice of words.

Talking about a more likely reality is no different than the daily updates posted in the month folders where Naes says she thinks they’ll start X date this week as an educated guess. When one calls and the operator reads the script that they’re only working on a date that’s listed on USCIS it’s a lie. This forum exists to me, not only for information, but also for people to cope over the process they are in the dark with. Let people use it as they wish.

Hello everyone! I thought there was another thread for NOA2 approvals but I couldn't find it. Noa1 2/21/17 & NOA2 2/27/18. The NVC received our file on 3/14/2018. I will call again on Monday to see if a number was assigned to us yet. Has anyone started doing anything before getting the NVC#? Good luck and speedy process to everyone!

This is exactly why I stopped helping people, or why I stopped doing it on a grand scale.

You guys are always SO WELCOME to information as long as it's what you want to hear. As soon as someone says that something might really take as long as USCIS/NVC estimates, you start throwing a fit and tell us to butt out.

This process is stressful. If you want to sit here and dig for more information than what is in front of you, you're welcome to do it. With that being said, I have seen SO much complaining over the last few days in this thread. There are people here who might feel stifled and like they can't talk about the good progress their case is having. Some of you are incredibly bitter, and it does drive people away.

If you want to cope, try to at least be realistic about it. Don't sit here and ignore the good, helpful - albeit NOT what you want to hear - information. Just because it's not convenient for you doesn't mean that it's false.

Also, if you're going to compare me to @Naes, that's a giant compliment. Do note that people ####### all over her, too.

It seems you were too eager to snap back at me than read what I wrote. I said we were speculating as @Naes does, not yourself.

Can you note one thing anyone said one here that is what someone wanted to hear rather than the reality? Saying the 8 weeks to NVC number script is probably unlikely is not being unrealistic at all. I'm leaving this thread because I'm not interested in your hostile comments. I'm looking to talk to people who are also struggling with the process so we can get through it together. Have fun being bitter and "educating" people on here.

Oh yeah, I'm super bitter. Get right with yourself. I wish you luck! No one wants to be around people who are negative all the time.

FYI, we're already through NVC and have our interview date. I want nothing more than to see the people I've been talking to for the last 9 months to get good news and move on. PEACE.

I ordered more dice this week to deal with the still waiting (ok I would have ordered dice anyway cos it was a super pretty RPG set) :)

I'm still waiting for NVC Case# and am at 3 weeks and finally talked partner into calling when he gets a chance today. I'm kinda working on wedding dress but waiting for machines to be serviced so kinda at a standstill - we all deal with waiting our own way and this is mine
