Yea this is what I thought (and really hope for).

How do we know if we're in the new or old system? When I call I dial the NVC # and then press 1 for English. After I press 7 for all other questions. Sometimes I even press 2 because it gets me a representative faster lol (I waited like 3 mins vs 20 mins with option 7 😂). I was never asked to try another option though no matter if I called with 2 or 7.

You're old system. If you have to press 5, you're new system.

:) It'll happen. I know that wait feels like forever, and it totally does suck. My heart is with you guys.

So I can know if I'm in New or old system before NVC#? Because I tried asking the lady that answered and she said "we have only just received it, once we get you in the system we will know for sure if you are part of the new system or not. We don't know yet".

I'm confused... does "get you in the system" mean case # assigned?

Is any difference to be in the new or old system? in other words are the cases sent faster to embassy when in the new system?

When I've called the last week trying to get a case number after they received our case on March 7th, I was told it could take up to 2 weeks to get a case number. Today I was told it can take up to 8 weeks to receive a case number after they receive a case because it's taking longer than usual. Feel like I'm losing my mind

They also told me it could be 8 weeks from the NOA2 date, and then an additional 8 weeks of processing at NVC:(

Question,  on scheduling an interview online in manila it asks to register. Can I use my, the petitoners , email and name or use my fiances email and name. Or use my email and her name?

Harry

Use her name for to online registration. She is the one being interviewed so most forms and documents during the interview and Philippine staging for the completion of same will most likely be in her name. Likewise with the DS-160. She fills it our and signs it. But honestly, if you want to fill it out and have her look it over to insure all the Philippine names of people and places are spelled correctly then that's OK. But and I say BUT she is the one who pushes the submit button, NOT you per the instructions. Don't put her in a situation where she must lie to the CO that she was the one when in fact it was you who submitted it. Just some friendly advise.

Can someone explain to me what packet 1, 2, 3, etc are? Like which is what?

Also, do we (petitioner or beneficiary) receive anything physical from NVC

My case was received at NVC. Awaiting NVC#

I am not familiar with packet's 1 and 2 but packet 3 is what normally is referred to as the "Embassy Letter" which contains all the document requirements and next steps after you have received your case number. Your embassy either mails it to the beneficiary or they will email it to them. Packet 4 is the notification that your ready to schedule your interview appointment which is normally used for the 1CR visa (married visa) not for K-1 (fiancée visa). Each Embassy works differently so advise if you can go to your VJ sub-forum and someone there can share the letter with you ahead of time. Sometimes you will find it on your Embassy website. You might want to visit your Embassy website for "what's next" answers.

I wouldn't go through the phils if I were you, my fiancé is Filipina and were doing the visa through Taipei and we planned to leave Taiwan and go to the Philippines for 2 weeks then to USA, however she would need another document upon leaving so we decided not to go. We will go from Taiwan to usa and then go to phils after we are married and she gets the green card.

Which paper they are asking? Is that the cfo?
