Im a Filipino working in kuwait. So my visa willbe issued here in kuwait, then im planning to have a connecting flight from kuwait to philippines to usa. Do i still need cfo? Since i will go outside the airport to meet my family

I wouldn't go through the phils if I were you, my fiancé is Filipina and were doing the visa through Taipei and we planned to leave Taiwan and go to the Philippines for 2 weeks then to USA, however she would need another document upon leaving so we decided not to go. We will go from Taiwan to usa and then go to phils after we are married and she gets the green card.

Well, I attempted to call this morning but the lines are too busy I guess. But, my fiance did get notification that we have our case number! I checked, it's in transit!

I do still have to keep calling though, as I've been calling to get my address changed before it hits the embassy level. Thankfully, my old landlord is being less of a jerk than normal and has said he would hold my packet for me if it arrives there, rather than send it back like he has with the few straggling pieces of mail. Good day today! Hopefully with them being open some more cases will be on the move!

For the Canadians, I believe because Montreal is on the digital version of the process, maybe all cases get expedited, as ours was as well!

I just called nvc twice. First time I hit option 7 and a very polite lady told me that my case was already in their newer system and that I should hang up and call again and hit option 5. I thought I would receive my case # already but then I called and hit option 5, another lady said they had not assigned a case # for me and it could take up to 2 weeks. I asked her if I could give her mine or my fiance's email address and she said not yet because she didn't have access, cause I didn't have a case #....well, I'm happy it is finally there. I hope it won't take long for them to assign a case number and send it to the consulate.

Congrats! Where did your fiance get the notification? My fiancee has been calling all morning to no avail.

GUYS.

It is better to call after 6pm NVC time. At that time they will have processed the mail. Calling in the morning might seem efficient, but you're not doing yourself favors. :)

We had signed up for email/text updates, so we got an email about it.

And for me, since I don't need the case number, I just need to change my address, I'm not worried about them checking the mail :)

I promise that unless I quote someone directly, my statements are generalized.

There is always a frenzy about getting NVC case information. People get stressed out and upset when the person on the phone can't tell them what they want to hear.

They're people, too. Also, NVC is a lot better to deal with than USCIS. Just keep the faith, keep calm, do whatever you have to do... Just please guys. Breathe.

Yeah, I only called like every 3 or 4 days I think. Didn't call often as (because I'm visiting the US right now) it cost me $7 per day on my phone plan to use roaming. Haha. I didn't even call USCIS either, I was just waiting and randomly heard. I think for me, calling constantly makes me more anxious. And I assumed it was generalized but I'm odd. :D

I know it's a cruddy process, but it's true, the best advice is to keep calm. It helps a LOT.

viewed your timeline, its incorrect. you have case number given today and in transit today. that doesn't happen. so NVC must have assigned a case number much earlier as it takes at least a week to go from at nvc to transit.

Just going by the information I have. We got our case notification today, I checked it, and it says in transit. The Montreal embassy is electronic, so it very well could be on it's way there.

I don't know. We had signed up using the form when we filed. The G-1145 form.
