I’m paying the visa fee over the counter tommorw my bank wouldn’t let me do online transactions more than 5000 Indian rupee per day  also I didn’t know that I don’t have to wait till it says READY everyone already scheduled the interview before the papers even reached the Mumbai embassy

Weather is not avoidable of course, but feels like a bit of bad luck sometimes. Better they're not driving in the storm. I had work today and don't live that far away... government agencies have it good in some ways!

Im a Filipino working in kuwait. So my visa willbe issued here in kuwait, then im planning to have a connecting flight from kuwait to philippines to usa. Do i still need cfo? Since i will go outside the airport to meet my family

Yes. I am the beneficiary and I called them 4 times already and they were nice and polite and said my visa isn't there yet, can take up to 6 weeks etc

Since you are leaving the airport, I'm assuming you have to tickets one from Kuwait to Phil and then Phil to USA, then you will have to attend CFO. If you are just laying over and you stay in the international terminal and not leave the secured area, no CFO needed.

Keep in mind that these "officers" answer hundreds of calls. Some people are nice to them and others are not. If you get through to them before someone rains on their parade then you may get a truthful answer but if not you might just get the standard blurb for the day. Think about walking a mile in their shoes.

 

What I don't get is that it has been spoken here on how long it is taking and everyone is special but you still are all in the same line and it's first come first serve. Calling everyday is not going to speed things up, in fact your slowing the process for others who have more urgent requirements to talk to an agent.

 

Every step of the way has now become longer and longer. So sit back, put your feet up and relax. Just trying to explain that you must be a realist when it comes to this entire process. Let me pre-warn you that AOS is taking almost 10 months and EAD is 4 months. AOS was 4 months and EAD was 45 days just a year or so. So things have changed and you must adjust your expectations. 

 

I've been through this myself. When I was processing my wifes ROC California was finishing adjudicated their cases within 6 months and Vermont was taking 14 months. Same process for each of us but Cali was faster. Didn't feel fair then and it doesn't feel fair now. But, we couldn't do anything but wait.

It will take anywhere for 2 weeks to 4 weeks. Calling will be a waste of time since you are still outside that window.
