yeah when it says "ready" then pay the visa fee and schedule, my attorney first told me to go ahead a pay the visa then I asked him about the "at nvc" he said oh yeah best wait to "Ready" in case nvc has a slow down you don't want to jump the gun as the 136# can only be used ONCE. so.....I will wait to ":ready". if I waited 6.5 months to get NOA2 I can wait for it to be "ready" status

If for any reason you need to cancel your interview and reschedule you are allowed two cancellations then you will have to wait 90 days and pay another interview fee to schedule.  So your lawyer is only half right. That's why I never recommend using a lawyer. Between you doing it yourself (you have access to the forms and their good instructions that go along with the forms if you get stuck) and you are on VJ where you can ask others for any questions you may have from those who have experienced the journey.

Depends on your Consulate. Philippines you can schedule once you have your case number. I would recommend that you go over to the sub forum for Thailand and ask that question. Each sub forum has "experts" to help you and others who are going through just what you are.

Dang you have to wait for the embassy to get your packet. I know every embassy is different but how long did it take your embassy to get your packet from the NVC?

We are going back a number of years when NOA2 was 90 days not 6 to 10 months like now. Embassy had the packet within a week after NVC assigning the case number. But even now that process is slower that's why my recommendations on my posted time lines here is 4-6 weeks.

Not true. Hundreds have gone before you using this system. It's been proven over and over. My wife did the same and we were done in no time even when she had a RFE. I have been on VJ helping others navigate through USEM for five years. Trust me when I say you can do it at your pace. If you want to wait then you will add 1-2 months on your processing. Your choice. Good luck.

This is such a good news specially that we are dying to finish this process. We will follow your advice. Thank you so much again. So happy here. Please continue helping other peeps here. You're awesome! 😊
