Thanks for your response. Appreciate it. I will check on those forums. 😊

Your welcome. I skimmed over your earlier post and saw now that you have your NVC letter. That is a better document to use for SLEC then the print off of your confirmation page from scheduling your interview. BTW, anything you do on-line and get a confirmation page or email be sure to keep it for your records it may come in handy.

We were approved the 24th.  After the 3rd day of calling USCIS, I was finally told my petition had been forwarded to NVC yesterday.  NVC still has not received.  The lady I talked to the first day, first asked if I had called NVC yet to see if they had received it already and I stupidly said not yet.  Then she said call them and if they have not received it, call back and we can mark your petition as "time sensitive".  So I called back USCIS back the next day and mentioned that to the agent.  The agent I got that day just give me the stand wait time and didn't acknowledge that he could mark it "time sensitive" when I asked, but it did get mailed out the next day.  Maybe connected or maybe not, but this was the first I had heard of this.

It maybe in the NVC building but not logged in. Once they receive your approved petition then it takes approx. 10 business days before you are entered into the NVC system and a MNL# has been issued. Start calling at that 10th day. Once you have the number it's rock and roll time as you are now in control for how fast you want things to happen in the Philippines.  I just responded to someone else with links to use. Your welcome to use the same.

  • Your embassy case file number:

You will receive your case file number (MNL) from NVC once they have reviewed your file.

After you receive the NOA2 (I-797 Notice Of Action) in the mail it can be another 2-4 weeks for NVC to get your file from USCIS and into their system, then a 2-6 more weeks before NVC assigns the MNL # from USEM.

Call after 4:45 PM or early at 7:05 AM eastern time, M-F, for shorter wait times.

K-1 are processed like an immigrant visa, but are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own.

K-1 visa:  1-603-334-0888 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time) .

    What to Prepare Before Calling:

You will need the following information before you call:
    – Name and date of birth of the beneficiary
    – Name and date of birth of the petitioner
    – Receipt number from your NOA-2

Once connected to an Agent at NVC ask for your MNL#.  Once you get your MNL# it's time to begin to be in control of your process for the next several steps.  Don't be discourage if the NVC Agent, who answers your call, indicates that you should call back in 20 days because a MNL# has not be assigned. Thank him/her for their time and hang up and call the next day. Do this each day till you have been given your MNL#.

    E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov

I highly recommend you email NVC for the MNL #, even if you call to get it, this will give you a correspondence (sooner than the letter arriving) from NVC with the MNL # for future reference.  The email request for your MNL # is also a great way to track when your file is forwarded to USEM as NVC will not reply to the email until that time. ;)

    REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:
You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

    * NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).
    * Petitioner's name and date of birth.
( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )
    * Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

Good luck.

There is not justification this can take so long...

I've seen a few people say that when they called they were told it takes 4-6 weeks, so I haven't yet. I may do that today.

And I just signed up for that, it's such a useful tool ! thank you so much. unfortunately it says I have no mail on its way .... ): this is probably going to take the max amount of time ugh

It does take 4-6 weeks. So no need to keep calling as you will get the same answer.

After you receive the NOA2 (I-797 Notice Of Action) in the mail it can be another 2-4 weeks for NVC to get your file from USCIS and into their system, then a 2-6 more weeks before NVC assigns the case number from USEM. These are pretty good estimates but your mileage can be different. Additional information in one of my earlier posts.

Just that, I can't schedule my interview yet since the status of my case still says at NVC and I've read you only can schedule your appointment once it says "ready". That's why I'm thinking about doing the medical ahead of time while waiting for our case to arrive in Manila, and just print that email to present at the medical.

Thanks for the advice, yeah, I will be printing and make copies to my online confirmations.

Not true. Hundreds have gone before you using this system. It's been proven over and over. My wife did the same and we were done in no time even when she had a RFE. I have been on VJ helping others navigate through USEM for five years. Trust me when I say you can do it at your pace. If you want to wait then you will add 1-2 months on your processing. Your choice. Good luck.

Depends on your Consulate. Philippines you can schedule once you have your case number. I would recommend that you go over to the sub forum for Thailand and ask that question. Each sub forum has "experts" to help you and others who are going through just what you are.

My experience is with the Philippines for after NVC. So I would recommend going to your sub forum and ask that question. Those that are there will help you out with the correct answer. Philippines can schedule right away because the Embassy interview schedule is out at least 30-45 days so plenty of time for the records to arrive at the Embassy (USEM).
