My fiance won't be able to assist to the interview, and we are planning for him to write a letter that I can show it in the interview. He'd be explaining why he can't come and all of that. What do you think?

Some embassies dont even allow the SO to be at the interview with the beneficiary. (Mine does not alllow) So i would check with your embassy first to see if its even allowed.

Yes they can as long as they can answer the questions they will ask once the case is there and assigned a case #. They will ask for the name of the person calling, whether they are the petitioner or beneficiary and birthdate. Then they will ask for name and birthdate of the significant other.

I hope you are too because waiting sucks and i hate it! lol. But...most likely you will hear them tell you that they haven't received your case yet and it could take up to 6 weeks for them to get it. Just say "ok thanks" hang up and call back tomorrow. Good Luck!

It happened all so quickly. We got approved Feb 5, the NVC already gave us our case number, and for some reason we got an e-mail from the NVC stating that the Montreal U.S. embassy accepted that our case be expedited... My fiancé and I never asked for our case to be expedited lol... Basically it says that the Montreal U.S. embassy is Ready for us to set up an interview since Feb 27, but we must send our packet 3 to them first.  ( I still haven't received a letter in the mail from the embassy though)

oh.. so that how it works :) thanks for the info (L)

After emailing them packet 3 (once you have all the documents on the checklist), they'll reply back within the same day or later with packet 4, which tells you how to book your medical exam and interview.  However, i'm curious to know if i'll actually receive by snail mail packet 3. XD That would make everything much more official.

Still dont have a number from NVC😞

Did it get to the NVC

If not, call USCIS and talk to a tier 2.

I called last Thursday and the next day (Friday) they received my case.

idk, if that made a difference, but you can try and maybe it can work. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

We have gotten everything done.  We sent the packet of paperwork they requested to the Embassy.  Today they called my fiancé and asked him why he sent them a package of paperwork and told him they would have to return it to him.  He had to explain that he filed a DS-160.  I don't know why they sent the directions about what to do to me and not to him.  None of it seems very organized.  Finally, the person on the phone understood that he was a K1 visa applicant.  Despite the fact that the website tells you one thing, please wait until your petitioner gets the instructions on what to send by Aramex to the Embassy.  It will include the Affidavit of Support.  It would be good if he or she sends the Egyptian beneficiary the Affidavit of Support and the documents that go with it by FedEx.  Also a new Intent to Marry statement.  These things need a real signature, so don't send a photocopy or scan.  Just a bit of advice.  We were lucky so far.  I think that is advice for everyone.  For the most part, you should have a wet signature on the Affidavit of Support.  It is a legally binding document.  They want an original copy.

Once you have your NVC case number, things more or less go quickly.  So keep up your spirits.

I called NVC today and they hadn't received my case after 13 days, so I then called USCIS. I waited for a Tier II callback. Tier II told me a shipment with my application in it went out on the 27th and that it should arrive at NVC by this week.

If you are feeling your NVC number is taking long, calling USCIS to see if yours shipped helps ease the wait.
