Guys I know I read somewhere that wet signatures were required for some of the evidence needed.  I don't have anything I can cite though as proof...just that this entire time I accounted for the fact that I would need to make sure I made time to mail certain items, because they had to be wet signature.

I sent Tiger the Affidavit of Support, updated Intent to Marry letter, and letters from my employer, all signed originals, with copies kept on my end.  It was about $12 at the post office (when FedEx and UPS had been quoting me $80+ to ship to Australia.)

I'll keep sniffing around and hopefully I can find wherever it was that said that.

Until then, my personal advice would be, if it doesn't present an undue financial/time burden, send originals.  Better to have and not need than need and not have, as Tiger likes to say...

Hi all, I am sorry if it was already discussed but...
When they ask for police records for the interview I know that I need to bring one from Russia (I am from Russia).

Do I also have to bring one from the US? (It was the only country where I resided for over 6 months beside Russia).

I have seen contradicting comments regarding this, so I wanted ot figure it out once and for all.

Thank you!

Hey! You don't need police certificate from the US, they can check it without you giving them these papers, don't stress out and be happy =)

I know that Egypt needs it to be signed (Affidavit of Support).  It is a legal document that holds up in court, so I guess they need one with an official signature.  I actually think that this is true for any country.  You are signing a binding contract to be held responsible for the petitioner.  Yes, I agree with Tiger.  My fiancé didn't agree with me and I did it anyway.  Then, the next day, he found out that we DID need the wet signature.  He was very happy I did my research.  That is why we are partners!  So at least one of us knows what to do!  :)

I am filling out the affidavit of support and on the form it asks for an A-number. If I'm not mistaken, that number is on the NOA 2 right? I'm at work right now so I don't have the NOA 2 but I remember seeing it (I think). Would that be the A-number I put on forms from now on? Thank you!

I think the A-number is on the NOA1 as well.

Our lawyers didn't want us doing anything until we got the Packet 3 and now we're waiting for my police report from the Canadian Police to file our packet.

Unfortunately this pushes our timeline back 2 weeks or so as I understand you can't get an interview date without filing your DS-160/Packet 3.

Sort of mad :(

Hey Everyone,

My Fiance (the petitioner) called NVC today and got our case number. When I go to CEAC tracker it will only accept the case number if I put in IMMIGRANT VISA and then the instructions following that talk about DS-260 and a bunch of other forms that seem similar to what I've been researching/hearing about on this and other forums but I thought I need to file a DS-160 so now I'm confused and a little worried. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance :)

I just got the MNL Case number today from NVC, the representative told me that they are sending the file electronically and physically to the US Embassy, US Embassy will only send Packet 3 as soon as they receive the Physical File. We all know that it takes awhile before they will receive the File from NVC.

Question is, can I start doing the medical and interview appointment as soon the status of our case change to READY from IN TRANSIT without receiving any email or packet 3 from the embassy?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

It is strange that confirmation page of DS-160 asks you to bring "Evidence of Approved I-129F". Should I bring copy of it?

Yes it is. What I'm gonna do here is I have a scanned copy of NOAs just to be sure.
