Why do we need a NVC case number? Is it to track? where do we track this and why do we need to track?

Giiirl

Have you ever looked at my signature?

You can track your case while it is at NVC. It'll go like, NVC, in transit, ready. Or something.

NVC just approved our case and we're "expedited" apparently? No idea what that means haha.

As we wait for the case to go to Montreal we've checked our status at CEAC and got the following;

"Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

Unforgettably, however, we don't see any interview date. Any ideas? Couldn't find anything using the search feature.

Just following up on this.

Does anyone know where the NVC may have sent the interview date? We haven't received anything :(

I would check out the consulate page for Montreal. The interview date very well could have been mailed to your s/o, which is why you don't have it yet.

You're going to have to give more information. Spouse visa or Fiancé visa or other?

Have you submitted anything to NVC prior to the expedite? Did you get a checklist or case complete notification from NVC (spouse visas)?

Fiance
No submission to the NVC other than the NOA2.
We got no checklist but got an approved notification with our case number which we used to check the website tracker and got the above quote.

How did you get the "approved notification "??? By mail, email?

Checklist and what they call "case complete" is spouse visa terminology. Spouses also send evidence and money to NVC. The NVC dishes out interview dates. That's not you.

A fiancé case just passes through to the embassy. You need to do whatever Montreal's procedure is. You do not have an interview date despite what that status says. NVC never arranges fiancé anything.

The VJ page for Canada looks out of date. Here's the Montreal K1 page. Start going through that information https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/

also go ask your questions in the Canadian forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/
