We also got our NVC case number today! I'm hoping that Frankfurt can get it processed very quickly. We're very very ready to leave this place to go to USA (I came here to be with her during this nightmare visa process).

I'll also update once we hear something.

Hi!  I have been to Syria in 1999 because my ex-husband is from Aleppo.  My 2 older kids are Syrian-American.  I enjoyed it somewhat, especially the citadel in Aleppo, hamaam Yarbougha, the restaurants that were swimming pools in the daytime and have food at night.  A lot of Armenian people had weddings there and they would cut their cakes with a sword and share with absolutely everyone in the restaurant.  I went to Damascus but only for two days.  We went to a small Christian shrine place in the mountains.  It was near a village and there were people there who were supposedly the last few people on Earth who spoke Aramaic.  We went to Basra to an ancient Roman city built of volcanic stone that had an amphitheater.  I consider myself lucky that I got to see these things before the war.  My daughter was only 18 months old and my son was never born yet.  I didn’t have as much fun in Syria as I did in Egypt, but that is because I had/have lots of friends my own age there versus visiting my ex-husband’s family.  I hope your fiancée will have a happy life here.  Every Syrian person I know here has adapted wonderfully and has countless friends of every race, religion and ethnicity but can still find their own cuisine and groceries.  Good luck and sorry for the off-topic post.

Hi, there. How can I check the status of my case at NVC? I got my case number few hours ago and I need your advice on how to check if my case is "Ready" or " in transit" to my consulate.

Thank you.

If you go to @Naessignature on the computer not on mobile device, it tells what website to go to.

It's my understanding that "in transit" means your documents have left NVC and are going to the US  embassy. "Ready" is the key word which means that your documents arrived to the embassy and your case is ready to be processed.

When was your NOA2 ????

Hi we got our NOA2 on 2/21. I have a question and if any of you can answer I would really appreciate!

Im the beneficiary in Japan and My USC fiance is preparing supporting document for I-134 Affidavit of Support.
She has been working here in Japan as an Eng teacher for past 3 years but she hasnt filed US tax return for past 3 years

because she was thinking she didnt have to since she was working and paying tax here during that time period.
We realized she was supposed to file US tax return even if shes outside the US and earned 0 US income.
So basically she has to back file past 3 years but does anyone know how?

Also does she ever have to declare foreign(Japanese) income?

Thanks!

I got the case number and the invoice number over the phone from a nice CSR at NVC last night.  When I said "Thanks, now I can follow our case online," he said "No, you can't check your case status online.  That is for informational purposes only."  We checked the case number last night and it said "at the NVC" and this morning it said "In Transit."  Today we got an e-mail stating it had been sent to Egypt and an attachment which was a letter addressed to my fiancé.  So, just letting you guys know what happened so you can know what to expect.  Like I said earlier, our I-129F was approved on February 6th.  I hope you all have speedy approvals!  By the way, the letter to my fiancé said that the transit to the embassy could take weeks.  I thought it only took days since it is scanned.  I will let you all know what happens next.  Good luck in all your cases!  I hope your loved ones are with you soon!

May i ask about what the invoice number is?

Since you are the beneficiary, you can start looking at the DS-160.  You will need two recent 2x2 passport photos on a white background.  You can gather the info on where the doctors are and get the number of the one you want to use.  Find your immunization records so you can get fewer shots.  Get your police records from every country you have lived longer than six months since age 16.  Does your passport have at least 6 months on it from the time you anticipate getting your visa?  Study some interview questions.  Most of all, RELAX.  If you have decided to go for this relationship and feel confident, you should have no problems!  Your Embassy will contact you and your fiancé will get a letter to forward to you by email from NVC with some good pointers.  You are in the home stretch...  Cheers!

Hi, I have already filled up the ds160 tho I don't have the case number yet, it is just so confusing In ds160, should I put USCIS WAC receipt number or the NVC case number.

some people say it should be the Receipt number, some will say it doesn't matter?

thank you

You have to put the USCIS number (WAC #). Nowhere on the form does it ask for an NVC number. If you see the little blue question marks on the form, hover over those and they will explain what you should put in that space.

For a London interview

Petitioner: Prepare the I--134, get an employer letter for proof of current income, and mail it to you. Nothing else needed from him/her. One tax transcript, free from the IRS, is also an easy proof if you can't get an employer letter.

Beneficiary: The link to the K1 instructions on the London embassy website has been posted three times already in this thread. Read the steps and all the links and FAQs to know what is coming up...the procedure, the documentation, the police certificate, the medical and questionnaire to fill out, the courier, etc.

Concerning the answers previously given you.

You need 6 passport type photos. Four can be British size.

You have no choice of medical facilities. There is only one, in London.

You won't need to study any questions. It is a very simple chat like "have you ever visited,? where will you live?, have you met the family yet?" Done.

Sorry.  Egypt is different.  They will let you know what you need.  You won’t have to guess.  😉. I’m going to be lookin closely at ours.  I read it from their website, but I’d better check again to make sure how many photos.  And there is a list of doctors for Egypt.  Won’t it be nice when all these hurdles have been cleared and we can finally have weddings?

Getting police certificates are most frustrating thing. We have to get certificates from 3 different countries. US Embassy in one of those countries is willing to help, but other two says "This is not function of Embassy". I think it is absurd to ask someone to travel back to those countries to just get a police certificate. By the way, those countries do not hold any proper records whatsoever because they are not developed enough. This is so stressful. I am waiting for my Case # so I can contact our Embassy and request solution/exemption.
