nope, i don't cc. you said i wasn't familiar with cc. that's ridiculous. nb said he has customers that cc all the time. yeah well, you live in a state with cc and guns are all around you all the time.

the 'story' was in response to the ridiculous argument that a good guy with a gun is going to be able to protect anyone from an attack like that. if the whole good guy with a gun thing were true, you'd think that a good guy, instead of le, would have taken out a bad guy in any one of the mass shootings that have occurred in the us. that hasn't happened.

I wasn’t saying you are not familiar with it.  I was alluding to how you and I have never faced your scenario in a public setting.  Like you, I have never carried a weapon into a restaurant.  20 years ago, the notion of needing to do so was ridiculous.  10 years ago, it was inconvenient.  Today... well, I am leaning more towards starting than at any time in my life.

A good guy with a gun has 98% more likelihood of fighting back than an unarmed guy.  Doesn’t mean he would “win” but it means he would at least have a chance.

And good guys with guns stop criminals all the time.  It’s just not as popular in the MSM.  Doesn’t send the “right” message.  But examples of it have been posted here many times, which I am sure you are well aware of.

"98% likelihood of fighting back" is a useless percentage you've made up... i'm not interested in that or what you think is popular in the msm. show me where a cc 'good guy' has stopped a 'bad guy' carrying out a mass shooting. or in a public 'targeted' event such as this.

you guys don't know what you're talking about. i'm at work right now. there are numerous guns in this building with me right now, in cars in the parking, on employees, a few in safes, some in the back (probably not stored as they should be). all sorts of employee carry guns here, matter of fact - some are going hunting first thing in the morning to kill stuff for a game dinner coming up. i live in virginia, in the sticks. you think i don't know cc is everywhere? pfft.

You guys ? really ?

I said I was comfortable with it. I never alluded to your okness with it.

Open carry does not bother me. I think its dumb from a tactical stand point.

true. you're an innocent bystander

open carry bothers me, only in that when i see a guy with a gun on one hip and a blue tooth in his ear, walking like he just got off a thoroughbred (even thought he probably just hoisted himself off his couch), spitting his chew in a dunkin doughnuts cup.. i feel like humanity is doomed.  and i'm relieved i don't work directly with the public anymore.

I also get much of the same impression. If you have ever been around elite type operators. They never flaunt it

Perhaps useless to you.  Sorry if you cannot fathom the advantage that it brings to the situation.  But not everyone feels the same way you do.
