I had my Citizenship interview on 02/16/2018 at 12:30 PM in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is about an hour and ten minute drive from my house to the USCIS Office in downtown Cincinnati. I left the house around 10:30 AM. I parked my car at the parking garage right next to the Federal building. Went through security and I was inside the USCIS office at 12:02 PM. Not a single soul was inside the office. Even the officers had gone to lunch. I went early hoping to study but the TV was on and I could not concentrate at all since the Florida school shooting incident was still fresh, and I had not followed it at all so I watched TV. Around 12:25 PM two offices came and one of them asked for my appointment notice.

Around 12:30 PM I was called in and I went in to the office of the IO. He asked me to put my stuff down and take a seat. He asked for my Passport and Green Card. At the beginning of the interview I told him that I made three mistakes in my application and I would like to fix them. The IO said he will fix them as time goes by. Then he said he was going to take a picture and do my fingerprints. He asked for my left index finger and I placed the right index finger, he had to tell me about three times and I finally got it. Then he asked me to stand up and asked me to raise my right hand to swear that I would tell nothing but the truth. Then he asked me to sit down.

Then he started asking the basic questions like Full name, address, married, kids, etc... On some of the questions he answered the questions for me. For example he said so you got your green card on March 5th 2008? I said yes. Then he asked about where I work and how long. When I said 17 years, he said that is very impressive. From that point on I felt he was very laid back. Then he went through all the yes no questions.

I had made copies of all of all the documents I submitted with N-400 plus birth certificates, marriage certificate, wife’s divorce decrees, documents needed for selective service but he did not ask for any of them.

Then he did the reading/writing and the civic test. I had to read "What month is Columbus Day?" and then write "Columbus Day is in October"

These are the 6 questions I was asked, they were very easy.

What does the President’s Cabinet do?

We select a U.S Senator for how many years?

Name one branch or part of the government?

If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes the President?

How many justices are on the Supreme Court?

What did the Declaration of Independence do?

The he asked me to sign where I made mistakes. Then he said he is approving me for Citizenship and I will get a letter in the mail notifying when my Oath Ceremony is. He said it will probably be in Dayton Ohio since I am closer to Dayton. He wished me good luck at the end.

I started preparing for the test around early January. I listened to the CD over and over during my 50 minute drive from work to home almost every day. Just this past week I started getting familiar with my N-400 application and spent a little bit more time on the 3 or 4 questions I could not answer. I also watched few video’s on YouTube and read the book in the past two weeks.

Anytime I prepare for an interview or a test I expect the worst. Overall I felt this was one of my easiest interviews.

@Nikkosan, when I went to my biometrics appointment USCIS officer gave me a book. The book contained all the Civic questions and a guide to the English test. Back of the book there was CD that contained all the questions and answers to the Civic test.
