Dear all,

Please advise if there is any requirements or timeframes to pass interview after NOA2 ?
For example I will be traveling for work and I will not be ready for medical exam and interview after NOA2. What if I will be ready like 2 month after NOA2 ? Is that okay?

Also please advise if I can pass medical exam after NOA2 but before docs are in Embassy of the US in Kiev, Ukraine.  Or whould I wait for docs arrive to the Embassy before medical exam?

Thanks!

After NOA2 your case will be sent to NVC then to the embassy. That whole process is taking a couple of months currently after NOA2. When you get a case number from NVC you can call the doctor and schedule your medical and the embassy to schedule your interview. Your petition has an expiration date before the interview, so I wouldn’t postpone anything if I were you. After you have your medical exam, that also has an expiration date and you have 6 months from that date to enter the US and after getting married, apply for AOS under that medical. If you don’t you have to pay for another medical. You have to see what’s more important to you. I’ve heard people saying you can ask them to renew a petition if it expires, but that it’s not easy to do and you run risks.

Actually, USCIS gets it to NVC very quickly now.  It is between 7 and 10 days from NOA2 to NVC#.  There is still delays for scheduling interviews depending on the embassy.  Some people are interview less than 4 weeks from NOA2 now.  There was a big change there.  NOA2 time is still very inconsistent, though.

I am still waiting on NOA2.  It is our day 258.  I just pay attention to what is happening with the other June petitioners who are being approved.  NVC is moving quickly now.  That seems to be the theme.  People wait 7 to 8 months for NOA2 then things are so fast they are surprised.
