I-864 Affidavit of Support for sponsoring mother

Hello, my MIL(mother in law) has visited us a numerous times off a tourist visa. She's currently in America visiting. My wife has determined to sponsor her mother for a green card. So we are going to adjust status for our MIL. I've completed the I-485 and I-130 but I have a question on the I-864. My wife works part time. Her wages alone isn't enough to meet the 125% poverty guidelines. With my wages included in a household of two, we're safely over the required amount to sponsor my MIL. We filed our taxes jointly. 

 

On page 5 Part 6 it asks for any other income in the household, in this case, mine will be included. My question is that with my income included in my wife's I-864 do I have to do any other paperwork to be a "co sponsor" or  will the government will view my wife's I-864 as the only paperwork needed to sponsor her mother?

What is the status of your wife?  Is she a US citizen?

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

OK.  I didn't mean any disrespect.  Sometimes posters come here thinking that a Green Card holder can sponsor parents......Good Luck to you and your family.
