Hi,

I want to share my experience with interview process and issuing visa for F2A category. I tried to find out answer on this forum for my case when my wife got 221G letter But I was not able to so I thought let me share my experience so It may help otheres.

I filed petition for my wife . I am a green card holder. My wife had an interview at Mumbai on 29th Jan,2018 .

counselor asked her few questions like what is your husband doing? when did you get married ?where did you go for honeymoon? did you have any ceremony or reception after marriage? my wife answered all questions only mistake she made was she said that due to limited time we did not have big celebration or reception. And counselor was not convinced with her and said that you guys had time for honeymoon but you did not have time for celebration, this is not true. My wife told counselor that she had photographs and everything but counselor did not even look at any pictures.

And counselor gave her 221G letter. it was white letter and my wife was asked to submit lot of documnets which prooves our relationship is genuine. Documents that counselor wanted were 1)marriage certificate 2) hindu ritual of marriage and marriage invitation card 3) caterers address name phone number and invoice 4)list of guest phone number and address 5)photographs of me and her together before marriage and after marriage. 6) my journey to india including boarding pass/ tickets/ and passport copy 7) joint account with my wife or property we owns together 8) whatsapp chat log video call log or phone call log /text msg before marriage and after marriage. 9) gift invoice or receipts of gifts I sent to her or she sent to me 10) honeymoon place, hotel name and proof that we stayed there .

My wife was so upset and so am I, because I never heard about 221 G for F2A visa category. we already waited for 2 years and still conselor wanted us to proove our relationship.

We did have celebration and reception but it was small and we did not invite too many guest . we had  100-150 guests only.

Anyways my mom and dad and my wife they gathered all documents in 2-3 days . My wife got almost 100 pics with me before marriage and after marriage . we made one big file and submitted to drop off location on 2nd Feb,2018.

I was expecting long process but with god grace we got mail from blue dart on 8th Feb,2018 with another 221G letter and asking us to submit passport at dropoff location. We submitted passport on 9th Feb,2013 . And on Feb 15,2018 she got big parcel from blue dart and there was all documnets we submitted to US emabasy after 221G and her passport with Visa stamped. Visa issue date was 13th Feb,2018.

So I would say if you have all your documents are ready and you did not do wrong then You dont need to worry about 221G . Process takes 10 business day only.

Relax and dont panic or worry.

if you are right, nothing is going to be wrong with you.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you want more info.

Thanks
